Driving down I35 this morning.  Up ahead I see flashing reds from multiple vehicles moving along as well.  Wonder what all this is about I think to myself.  They are moving at almost the same speed I am, so it takes 10 minutes or so to catch up to them.  As I'm catching up to them, it's becoming more and more apparent that this is a convoy of somesort, as there's 2 18 wheelers and multiple passenger vehicles between them with their flashers on.

As I come up on the trailing vehicle, it's a 3/4 ton RAM pickup with "Law Enforcement" as the only identifying mark on the back, there's 2 dudes in it.  I pass it, the door sign indicates it's a USDA vehicle.   WTF.  Did the corn not want to get harvested and tried to start a revolution or something?

I then pass 4-5 more pickups, all with multiple passengers, all with USDA markings on them.  Jeepers I thought, what did Monsanto come up with this time?  Children of the Corn?

Then I start smelling it.  The aroma of fresh cut pine.  And I see pine boughs stacked in one of the semis.  Ah...It's the National Christmas Tree!  Cool I thought.  Then I passed the lead truck, another USDA labeled Law Enforcement vehicle.

Then I thought to myself...Really?  They need a convoy of 6 vehicles to escort a friggen tree to Washington?  Was there a terroristic threat against a tree?  What a waist.

By the way, it's "Holiday Tree".  Or possibly Kwanzaa tree.
