Anyone else going to be carrying their trunk gun tomorrow?  All this ISIS chatter has got me thinking I will be throwing my vest and rifle in the ol' trunk just to be sure.

Peace through superior Firepower....
Remember a handgun is only a means to a long gun! Work has plenty of them and loaded magazines!

The cops were looking for a armed suspect near my office a week or so ago. My boss heard about it and asked me if i had a gun in my truck.
I looked at him and said "I have another gun in my truck"
he looked at me with a slightly surprised look and said, why dont you go get that one too, just in case
I love my office

I threw my GHB and my Sub2000 Carbine into my truck today.

I've been wanting to go back through the GHB to review and update contents, and haven't had it in my truck for ages (bad boy), but I threw it in as-is this morning and told my wife to stay home.

Maybe I'm being overly dramatic. I dunno.

It was no worse than Y2K.

And it was a nice bonus that I shot better with my 9mm pistol than my .22 pistol on the range.

How do they get away with circumventing state law? Or are you on a federal Instillation?

Its amazing what you can get away with when your boss either (1) doesn't care or (2) doesn't know enough to care.

But, I've been carrying more lately as fall is becoming the silly season.
- back to school for many and they have less sleep and are more on edge
- Football season is among us and lots of drunks and angy drunks
- Libtards are angry drunks

Don't get me wrong, I carry a pistol and basic load out of EDC items during all waking hours, at home or away.  I am just reluctant to leave a rifle in my trunk 24/7 due to vehicle theft concerns.  There is no reason to be without at least your pistol unless you are in a prohibited or non-permissive environment.

Subd 17 doesn't cover employers

Subd 18 does though

Subd. 18.    Employers; public colleges and universities.  (a) An employer, whether public or private, may establish
policies that restrict the carry or possession of firearms by
its employees while acting in the course and scope of
employment.  Employment related civil sanctions may be invoked
for a violation.

   (b) A public postsecondary institution regulated under  chapter 136F or 137 may establish policies that restrict the  carry or possession of firearms by its students while on the  institution's property.  Academic sanctions may be invoked for a  violation.

   (c) Notwithstanding paragraphs (a) and (b), an employer or  a postsecondary institution may not prohibit the lawful carry or  possession of firearms in a parking facility or parking area.

In other words,,,While you work for us, we "The employer" can say you will not carry a firearm on your person...

Thus;;

Subd. 17.    Posting; trespass.......

(c) The owner or operator of a private establishment may
not prohibit the lawful carry or possession of firearms in a

Holds it doesn't matter WHO is parked in the parking lot.. [span style='text-decoration: underline;']They cannot prohibit lawful firearms in someone's POV..

We had a local mill in town that prohibited lawful firearms in their parking lot, until someone tossed this law on a desk and said "hold on a minute".

It's grounds for termination for my company to be caught with firearm on Company property.  Company is large Minnesota company that makes post-its.

Our high school principal sent out a "reminder" last hunting season that students and visitors where not allowed to have firearms on school property and that they must go home to retrieve them if they are hunting after school.

I sent him the aforementioned statute and never heard back.  It will be interesting to see if he sends out the same email again in a few weeks.  My response will be a little more firm in asking why he is purposely lying to the students after I educated him last year.
