The range is located right on the north side of highway 68 near the Golden Pond Visitor Center. There is a green sign on the road near the entrance.

The range is free and uncontrolled. Any legal firearm may be fired there. The rifle range offers some covered shooting benches and distances almost to 200 yards. The pistol range is about 75 yards. There are no targets or target boards so bring something to shoot at.

The range is pretty popular and expect everything from Bubba the redneck to SF guys from Ft Campbell. Everthing bad you've come to expect from a public range can happen here.

Overall it's not a bad place to shoot and the price is right. There is almost always an old guy there collecting brass. Ask him about a large chunk of revolver ripping through his leg.

It's a popular place so there is no telling. If the benches are full you can setup in the grass next to the benches with no problems.  Plenty of room.

I'll be out there Saturday evening trying to get a beta mag running. If you see a guy wasting ammo and cussing the beta that will probably be me. Come say hi.

If you want to score some points with the wife Google "Patti's Settlement" and make some reservations fast. Without reservations plan on a couple hours wait. It is a good place to eat and the whole town is just little boutiques, antique shops, and a cool little sailboat marina. One of the antique shops even sells guns. It is in Grand Rivers at the north end of lbl.

I'm glad she enjoyed it. It's a very lady-friendly place. I left out the part about hitting the marina for a sunset on the lake.

The beta mag experiment is is a bust. No more time or effort will be put into it. About a 10 round burst is the best it would do before a malfunction. One worked great on semi but when the switch was flipped it was jam time.
