Just fired up my snow blower, waxed the chute, filled the gas cans and an putting my snow tires on.
What have you done to get ready? |
|
Finally finished picking up leaves. Split, stacked and covered every piece of cordwood I have on the property. Moved a cord inside.
Cleaned gutters. Killed water to and drained outdoor spigots. Sta-bil'd all the things. Put away the hummingbird feeder and took out the seed feeder. Christmas lights up. Real tree. Moved snowblower from shed to garage and lawn tractor from garage to shed. Need to get the winter tires on the SO's car. Or sell it and get all wheel. Made to-do list of inside winter projects. |
|
Does reading this thread count for anything? I still have leaves to pick up, need to move the blower to the front of the garage and change the oil and check the plug. Need to drag. The gas from the lawn mower. Need to do another pass on the gutters. Need to take the gazebo canopy down and move the furniture under the deck. Man I gots lots to do lol

I'm in fuckin' Detroit right now! Cold as fuck and icy fuckin' roads...maybe group8 would enjoy living out here because they sure as shit don't put any fuckin' road salt down!
|
|
sprayed Fluid Film on the truck and the plow, to fight the road SALT. looked at the snow blower buried in the back of the garage and said to myself "I got time".

Awesome. If it gets bad, you can run Zerg over to my house. Then you can help out too. You guys are the best.

Shapened the edges, gotta get some wax. My sisters fiancé asked me to go up to VT next week. I haven't been snowboarding in like 5 years. I'm gonna go outside and belly flop out of some trees to prepare my body for the beating.
ETA: Snow is officially in the forecast now. Attached File |

Are you guys saying we are supposed to get snow this weekend? I haven't watched news or weather forecast all week.

Now I just want to be able to go down the hill and not pull or strain or sprain or break anything. |

That come factory with the fox air shocks? See a lot of them on the used market and was thinking of getting a pair for my old Rev. Only got to ride once last year, worst year I can remember up north |

I am not ready!
I still have to clean my walk behind mower and tractor, and then change oil, drain fuel, and ready for storage. Then I have to get my snow thrower out from the back of the garage behind the generators, log splitter and other stuff. It is getting more difficult each year particularly with the angina. I want to move somewhere warm, but is not an option now if ever. I hate Connecticut! |

Southern Vermont mostly, I only get to ride on Sundays because of work so that limits how much and where I can ride

Bought a brand new ariens 28" deluxe View Quote Me too! What a solid looking machine. Great reviews too. Poured last year's stabilized gas into pickup to burn, refilled/restabilized gas cans, filled/fired up new Ariens. I need some of those fiberglass marking poles for my driveway, gotta do that soon so I don't fuck up the Belgian block. |

Ariens are top notch, I had one at one of my previous jobs and nothing can beat it! Now to get one of the (as my wife would call it) "queer snowblower cabin things." I am using the fiberglass poles for the first time this year. I picked them up at home depot pretty cheap, I can't remember exactly what I paid though. |

Took off mowing deck, and vacuum, put on the Snowblower on the Bolens, greased chain, pto shaft, new belt, oiled auger spindle, new headgaskets, spark plugs and previously new flywheel and starter.
Leaves up, yard picked up, gutters clean, vacuumed radiators, 3/4 tank of oil and a new heatpump ductless, brand new Chevy pickup truck, and a new 243 ruger American. I'm ready. |

I got ready this weekend. What a chore. I drove in three fiberglass markers to define the edge of my driveway for my plow guy. Took about five minutes but I rested up the rest of the day. Then I celebrated my accomplishment by treating myself to a new HK. Preparing for winter is brutal I tell you.
