web site has  been up-dated with new date of Oct. 25th

http://www.hudsonvalleyhighpowerrifleleague.com/

The Rockland Rifle and Revolver Club will hold the last high-power Camp Smith match of the season on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014.  We will shoot 3 strings of 20 shots + sighters from the 500 yard line.  No calibers above .223.  If you are not on the gate entry list please contact me.   Squadding is at 07:15 in the tank parking lot.  So far weather looks good...and this is a great time of the year to shoot on such a pretty range.  The club would like to thank all shooters and volunteers who have supported the matches we have had this year.  You have helped to sustain this high-power range that is central to many shooters.

Hope to see you all there before we go into hibernation,

George Kline

For this match all I will have is a single load magazine and a neutered black rifle

if in transit to a destination outside the city, provided that the firearm is at all times unloaded and in a locked case or locked automobile trunk and the person is “lawfully in possession of said rifle or shotgun according to the laws of his or her place of residence.”

That's the FOPA regulation for travelling THRU the state.  You're only supposed to make 'essential' stops like gas and bathroom, otherwise having them in the state of NY is most likely illegal.

You're behind enemy lines, comrade.
