I'll second that!  NY (city and state) are socialist colonies anyway, and should not fly the stars and stripes.

I have a low tolerance for vandals of any type.  Destroying these flags disgusts me.

If they had taken down the American flags and left them at the site and raised white flags I would feel differently.   As it is .... find them and prosecute them.

No more or less than CT is.

There are a ton of NYC patriots. Many have guns, they just don't talk about openly.

I totally agree with you about CT, it is just the article was about NYC!

No matter how many "patriots" there are, in either NY or CT, there is no turning back the tide of the socialist/progressive movement in the North East (or the entire country for that matter). All we can do is fight the hardest delaying action as we can, and understand that this is a fight we are going to loose eventually.  Why?  Because the Democrats, Socialists, Progressives have imbedded themselves in the main stream media, the educational and legal systems, and are bending our children and society to their will.  They dominate all the population centers, and marginalize, demonize, shout down anyone who voices the least bit of opposition to their agenda.

If you disagree with Obama on anything you are racist.  If you disagree with Hillary, you hate women.  If you wish the US to remain a sovereign nation that defends it boards and laws, you are against all immigrants.  If you believe that abortion is ending an innocent life, you are telling a woman what to do with her own body.  And, if you own a gun, you must be a crazed killer, out to murder children and police officers.

Of course the NYC patriots with guns keep quite, otherwise they would be in prison!

We'll if caught and prosecuted they can be fined and locked up for a year. Wonder if they will be locked up.

Was on Long Island today. Someone there made a good point. The Taliban used a white flag as their symbol. Is this to show that the Taliban have made it to our soil?

A signal of what?  Seems like a lot of trouble compared to posting something on the internet.

Besides wondering what the point is, I am curious why they bleached flags rather than placing white flags.  I don't understand what they are trying to say.

America has lost its honor?

The symbol of strength of American flag has been negated by its government?

The American flag is now a false flag?

America's Liberty is "washed out"?

Doing this on the Brooklyn Bridge is an odd place to choose to do it. I assume it was a bunch of local patriotic boys who knew their territory and knew what they could get away with and chose to utilizewhat they had available to them?

And this event has certainly gained more attention and notoriety than an internet comment ever could.

What these guys did, is far more than my simply driving around with stickers all over my truck or putting a tattoo on my leg or posting my thoughts online.

It would be nice though, if these flag guys somehow let everyone know what their sentiments were, in doing so.

All these calls for more security is disturbing.  There is way too much surveillance of American citizens already.  I guess the Facebook generation has never known any type of liberty and freedom from being monitored 24/7.

Even if someone blew up the Brooklyn Bridge it isn't like there is no other way to get to Manhattan.

Back in the 70's (if I remember correctly) there was outrage after the discovery the CIA was spying on Americans within the country.  Where is the outrage now?  All I hear is calls for more security.

Do you know what the colors of The Flag stand for? (Im guessing not, if you did you may recognize a semblance of possible meaning) And the fact most people dont is why the bleached flag is fitting. America is losing it.

Thats my guess. . . .

Yes, they've determined it was a case of a domestic terrorist attack against NYC, and in the effort to protect public safety, American values, and the lives of our children the city is implementing a warrant-less "frisk with lethal force" policy to ensure it cannot happen again.

Whoops, I'm sorry, Bloomberg isn't mayor there anymore.  Never mind.  They'll simply put the guy who did it in a lethal choke hold when they find them.

Spot freaking on. I think this prank/joke is pretty hilarious.

It's sad to see even some here calling for more security, as in "woah how did this happen!".

The correct attitude should be "wow this happened. tons of stuff happens everyday".

I can see it now - TSA agents guarding every bridge in the US doing drug and gun checkpoints.... just give it time.

What was that Obama said about a "national domestic police force" or something along those lines?

This is a screen grab from a small portion of a speech that Obama gave, at a recent fundraiser...

Wow.  Just wow.  Are you fucking serious?  Like there isn't another way into Manhattan?  Please say that out loud to yourself and see if it sounds as stupid as it does in print.  That might be the dumbest thing I have ever read in the CTHTF and that makes it pretty legendary.

NYC was subject to the worst terrorist attack in our country's history.  New Yorkers are still a little sensitive about that as you might imagine.  And just about anytime some group wants to make a statement, it usually is about attacking a target in NYC.  Don't spout some bullshit about cops everywhere taking away your freedoms every single opportunity you get.  They're trying to protect their city because they are the front line in the terror war.  They failed by not seeing someone plant those flags.

Stick with complaining about your rights being trampled by having to register your car and pay insurance on it.

I don't doubt there will be a horrendous attack soon since the 9/11 fear is wearing off. Perhaps blamed on evil Iranians, or evil Russians but this time many more will know better where to look.

Am I serious?  Yeah.  I was born in Manhattan and have lived there, so I have a connection.

However 9/11 was small potatoes.  For two decades before I was surprised we had not been attacked with a loss of life a hundred to a thousand times greater.  I was amazed by the surprise people expressed after 9/11.

I still am amazed by the response.

9/11 is not a valid excuse for spying on American citizens!

I haven't been here very long and I don't want to start any trouble, but I really do feel sorry for you if you truly believe what I bolded above.

I commute to NYC for work about once or twice a month and I alone accept the risk of going there, knowing full well it's the top spot for likely terrorist attacks.

Screw the "see something, say something" signs. Screw the "bags subject to random search" bullshit. Screw "stop and frisk".

Those who trade a little bit of freedom for a little bit of security deserve neither and will get neither.

There's always got to be a "War on (something)". Perpetual crises psychology.

For the Moral Majority, it's the "War on Drugs"
For the Limo Liberals, it's the "War on Women" and "War on Poverty"

The "War on Terror" has so far been the only "war" that both of the above actually agree on.

The "War on (anything)" ALWAYS equals the "War on Freedom".

Right...and how is having to pay for car insurance infringing on his rights?  Who should pay for it?  Since he feels absolutely no personal responsibility for his own actions, maybe he feels others should bear the cost of his own actions not to mention his "freedoms".

Talk about feeling entitled.

I think Matthew pointed out earlier that insurance is for everyone's benefit, including his own should he get into an accident in which he was at fault.  But some feel that having to insure their car is another case of being fucked by "the man".  Guess his freedoms are more important that everyone else's.

Having seen up close what happens to someone who causes a severe accident but has no insurance many, many times in court, I hope people who think car registration and car insurance are an intolerable burden like living in an alley after they lose everything they own.  Living in the alley after getting out of jail of course.

Maybe I do, maybe I don't.

But I know one thing for sure - the boogieman isn't out to get me, and I can look out for myself, even while in NYC.

And if something happens, god forbid, I will do my best in that circumstance.

The police state didn't see Newtown coming. It didn't see a lot of things coming.

And when I mean "things coming", I don't mean FBI stings where they trick some neckbeard into working for who he thinks is Al-Qaeda, and then busting his ass for a truckload of fertilizer and charge him for "intending to commit a terrorist act".

Register your pets.  Register your cars.  Register you business.  Insure all of them because no one is responsible for themselves in a commie state.

All scams created by lawyers, and enforced at gun point.

Lawyers are the greatest threat to liberty.

You will comply or the lawyers will bend you over and screw you.

Actually, I don't blame the lawyers. They're just tools being used by the rest of society.

Layers don't do shit, unless they're getting paid. Which is why I blame the people who keep lawyers in their back pockets and use them to get a leg up in the world.

Blaming lawyers is like blaming the TSA agents or the stupid, bully law enforcement officers. They're all on a leash and none of them think for themselves, without someone dangling a paycheck in front of them.

But in a SHTF scenario... They're the first ones to go.

Fact is, we have far too many police and feds on a payroll for anything to be allowed to happen.

It was probably some hipsters from the lower east side who had one too many a craft beer + ritalin and decided to do something cool for once instead of mulling over whether their next tat should be an owl or a pocket watch.

ZOMG terrorists! Hide ya kids, hide ya wife!

All these calls for more security is disturbing.  There is way too much surveillance of American citizens already.  I guess the Facebook generation has never known any type of liberty and freedom from being monitored 24/7.

Even if someone blew up the Brooklyn Bridge it isn't like there is no other way to get to Manhattan.

Back in the 70's (if I remember correctly) there was outrage after the discovery the CIA was spying on Americans within the country.  Where is the outrage now?  All I hear is calls for more security.

This is a screen grab from a small portion of a speech that Obama gave, at a recent fundraiser...

"the old order isn't holding"

"we aren't quite where we need to be in terms of the new order that's based on a different set of principles"

Wow.

While white flags fly above George Washington Roeblings masterpiece ice cream trucks ply the streets of crown heights keeping the peace between the Jews and the blacks who have traditionally warred for decades.  Like a thin light blue UN line, the ice cream man keeps both sides at peace.

437 men died building the Brooklyn bridge.  270 of them from explosive decompression deep in the muddy cassions (which had the atmospheric pressure of the planet Venus.).  But today we have peace.

Meanwhile, the Jews in Israel fight with their very own black people, the Palestinians.   There is no bridge.  Only walls.   There are no ice cream trucks.    No rocket pops.   Only rockets.   No malt cups.  Only iron domes.

As your next state ambassador to Rhodesia, I will build a bridge between Israel and Palestine and protect the peace with a fleet of ice cream trucks with bleached flags of both nations flying proudly from the roof.

Vote for  Mr. Frosty.

hahaha For real, though, I second this statement. Its all just about getting to Manhattan. Who cares if the bridge gets blown and hundreds of people die, I can still get there. Nothing else matters.
