This will cut down the height.  No worries.  It can wait a few months to greet your new friend.

There is no need for manipulated, imaginary "testimony" from children.  I can send you rotted electrical, hydraulic, and body parts and photographs from some of my cars.  You know... REAL evidence.  Perhaps you can do something useful and sue the state for rotting out my cars and the cars of many others.

English is not your first language, is it?

Anyway, since I work for the state, it's a little awkward for me to sue them and actually, I can't.

If road salt is truly the windmill you choose to tilt at for life, get a bunch of friends with like minds on this issue and the two of you hire a lawyer and sue.  Of course , it's not that easy but it's been done.  You have to go through the claims commissioner first.  Good luck with that.

God, the more you talk, the less I want to sit on a fucking plane with you for seven hours there and nine back.

No one said we have to sit next to each other.  As long as the trip is still on I'm okay.  I don't want to have to return my new speedo swimsuit.

Blast from the past!  I was digging into the back of one of my safes today and found this relic - A Springfield wide body 1911 I built back in the late 1900's when I used to run bowling pin matches (and some steel plate matches) at Rockville F&G.   I bought it during the 1994 ban since it used Para Ordinance 14 round .45ACP mags (which I had 1994 AWB grandfathered) Nothing like 14+ rounds of .45! Check out that ancient red dot and mount... That gun weighs more than one of my 94 ban era AR pistols!

Looks awesome zeger, I’m assuming our wives have similar taste.  The color schemes are close to the kitchen I did at our old house.
A lot of satisfaction when you finish your own kitchen, but I’ll never do that shit again!  I can’t remeber exactly but I think it took me 4-5 weeks to fully complete it.
That’s rough to go without a kitchen, I can’t even imagine doing it now that we have a kid.
At least your getting it done now, before any kids, although zeke looks like he wants his kitchen back! Lol

The kitchen is coming out awesome.

I did my kitchen in Florida in two weeks. Was down in December, measured and ordered everything. Went back in February tore out the old kitchen, removed a breakfast counter and tile. Repaired the drywall, replaced the cabinets and appliances. I used Lowe's for the granite and they came right on schedule. That was tiring. Worked like 12 hours a day to make sure it was done.

I did my kitchen here in CT and moved walls, doors, a bathroom and made a bay window. That took us 6 months. We did hire a cabinet maker to make all these cabinets and install them.

I know how hard it is not to have a kitchen. Sucks but worth it in the end. Plus doing it yourself you know it will be right.

Lol Zeke is like the worst kind of customer. You know the kind that literally rests their chin on your shoulder and watches what you’re doing.

It’s been pretty satisfying but I’m really into this stuff. I love working on the house. There’s a lot more I would have done to this one if I thought we were gonna live here for a longtime but we’re just trying to spruce it up to flip next summer (assuming the market holds).

If this is a success and we walk away with a good chunk of change I’d like to do this 2-4 more times before we settle into our forever home (I just want property and no neighbors). We think we’re sitting on about $100k equity on the house right now. If I’m right then that’s roughly a $40k bonus each year on top of our salaries. Well worth my time to kick around the house with the dog.

Thanks.

I could probably pull it off in two weeks if I didn’t have to go to work.

I was anticipating 2 months start to finish but it’s honestly progressed a lot faster than I thought it would. We’re going to look at granite slabs Monday and that’s the only part I’m not doing myself. And only because I don’t want to be on the hook for the rock if I measure something wrong or crack it installing it.

After that all that’s left really is the backsplash and trim, which I’m not looking forward to.

That is a good way to do things. Improve the house to increase resale and enjoy it in the process. Building sweat equity is worth it so you can get to the end. Just make sure to get into the forever house by the time you are 50. I enjoy working on my house and even if it is a job I don't like I like the results. After I turned 50 I have lost my drive to work 12 hours a day all weekend on a project. I remember when my father started saying "I am not working on the house all weekend anymore. I am getting tired of it". It hit me too. Some of it is the fact I want to do other stuff and part of it is I am sick of it.

I want land and no neighbors too. We have been looking at some property in town as both investment and a possible future home site.

If by tube TV you mean a Sony 65” 930C 4K smart TV, then yes, it’s a tube.

The black edges are the built in 3 cone speakers, you just can’t see them.

It’s the Rugby Sevens final.  It is not sissyball commonly known as tackle football.

As to better camera, I blame the iPad.  Thing doesn’t have a flash and for that kind of money I have to ask why.

Next time I’ll break out my Leica just for you, because I’m generous that way.
