What do u mean it (went out). TJ's r know for having linkage and linkage bushing problems on the 231 TC, it may be just something minor maybe not.
The 231 is not that hard to work on. He can get a rebuilt 231 for a 97-00 for about $750 plus core deposit, rebuilt by someone who has rebuilt 100's. Master rebuild kit, all bearings, gaskets and seals about $150 to your front door. If he need a drive chain and sprockets look at a few bills more. The dealer is the last place, no make that the one place not to take it to. |
