For those of you who live in these areas, any places to stay away from when buying a house?   Wife prefers this area (I like the Talequah area--hills and trees!!) for her requirements.

Use to live in OK, but been gone for decades.   Wifes' parents are getting older and not in the best of shape.  Coming down and staying in a hotel for a couple of weeks gets expensive and was thinking of trying to find a small house to buy (1,000 square ft or so, 2bd 1 bath kind of), so as to have someplace to live while down there.

I still have business (durn little now  O&G) down there and have nephews and grandnephews I love visiting, along with  a few friends still alive whom I still see.

Rather spend money on house payments than pay hotels.  figure, at least I would have some equity built up and when we do move back, could sell the place and get something a bit bigger.

Thanks

Just stay away from any of the Apartment complexes and you will be fine.

I live in Mustang and enjoy it. Pretty safe, quiet except on Independence Day and full of rednecks. If I were to suggest where to stay away from it would be older mustang, Pretty much around the highschool etc. It isn't bad, but I wouldn't want to move back there. We currently live in one of the new housing areas and aside from some of the renters it's pretty nice.

Given the funds though, I would like to move a bit west or south.
