When I was a Deputy I ended up with a shift working Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm except Thursday, on Thursdays I worked swingshift dispatcher/booking officer. Its really rare to end up with those kind of hours, but since I was the Chief Pilot for the department, that's primarily a daytime job.
Troopers bringing in a DUI was a very common situation, but on a number of occasions I have booked somebody for DUI and watched the suspect turn around and thank the Trooper for stopping them, this wasn't just one Trooper, but I think I saw every Trooper working that area with the same thing. As long as the suspect was civil and did what they were asked, the Troopers, and all the Deputies treated people with respect, but I only saw the suspects actually thank some of the OHP Troopers. The breathalyzer room was separate and I couldn't see everything going on in there, but there was something in their training that was going over well with the people they stopped.
