American castle with inner keep?  Judging by the length of those shadows, those corner towers are 25+ ft tall.  I'd also suggest clearing a lot more to the rear for a better field of fire.

I'm impressed.  And jealous.

AH!  COORDINATES FIXED!

You gotta drop them directly into Google Maps.  Bing maps works as well.

NOTE: alt key and 0176 is the code for displaying the degrees symbol.

Is that the castle from the show which followed Doomsday peppers?  Something like Doomsday castle?  http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3064818/

Nope, looks like the one in the show was in South Carolina.

all you would need is a Dillon mini-gun in each tower and it would be easily defendable...lol

What's that little trail/clearing to the right?  It's obviously well maintained, but hidden, and doesn't appear to be a shooting range.

I like the defendable position.... ancient concept that is timeless, and baseline badass.

There is a legit castle (not a doomsday fort) on Afton mt that you can see from 64 for about 4 seconds.

I'm thinking the structure off to the left is a solar cell array?  Bing maps seem to show construction a bit more advanced but resolution is not any better.

Ya, the turrets are a bit different as well.  I had the same thought at first, too.  Whatever happened?  Did they get it done?

My thoughts on the solar array as well. And I then began to ponder if these fellows were on that prepper show. But that was also cleared up earlier in the thread.

Neat find!!!

Sweet. I've told the wife if we ever strike it rich we're building a castle way out back of beyond somewhere.

Built in 1998
17,454 sq-ft.
10 bed, 11.5 bath

Well well well...  Somebody's up at the top of Walton Mountain LOL.  Everytime I see something like that, I wonder where in my life I made the decision that doesn't get me THAT lifestyle.  Roanoke is really nice, but I'm looking more for SW than that.  I don't see a pond or spring- water being vital.

They are too close to the woods.  First thing would be to sneak up there and cut the power.

I think the one in Loudoun was purpose built.  This one is neat in how you can see the original house it was built around.
