I usually only have time to get to the indoor ranges, but I do like to get out to C2 once in awhile.  Need to check zero on some rifles...

I don't live too far from C2, but have not been in a while.  My Bil has 55 acres in the mountains so been shooting there a lot.

C2 has been having some open range days lately whatever that means. If you like them on Failbook you can see their posts.

Shooting on the move
Shooting multiple targets
Steel engagements
Shooting from vehicles
Distance shooting with pistol

Not bad for $35 for 4 hours.

Normally Sunday and Wednesday 12-1600.

I'm normally out there on Sundays.

That sound awesome! To bad all I have right now is a bolt action 22lr, a semi-auto 22lr, and
Finnish M39 Mosin Nagant that I have no ammo for. Anyone know of a range that goes to
600 yards? I want to practice shooting CMP vintage irons with the M39 after I start to
handload.

None in hampton roads area of VA. Longest is going to be 300yds @ C2 Shooting Center in VB.

I normally do the high power rifle matches put on my Norfolk County Rifle Range that goes down to Academi for the competition. Sometimes they'll go out to 1000 yards and I'll confirm my dopes for $20 during the match. I kinda look funny with a 16in AR10 and scope while everyone else is on irons lol

I thought blackwater was in Chesapeake?

So can anyone just go to the range and use it, or do you have to
have a membership there before you shoot there?

Closed to the public. Need to have a reason to be on the facility. For me, it was to attend the NCRR high power rifle matches being held there. Actually one going on today.

Thanks. Who is NCRR? Because I have always wanted to do high power matches. I
just never knew there were any clubs around here that did.

Google NCRR, they have a web site. Norfolk County Rifle Range. They don't have a Rifle Range and they're not in Norfolk County, But they used to have an outdoor range and they used to be in Norfolk County. Their matches are open to the qualified public. Go to watch a match and see how it is run and help pull targets, it's fun and you'll learn and then you'll be qualified. Lafayette Gun Club has monthly High Power matches and their open to the public also.( although they only shoot 100 yards.) Most participants shoot M-1's, M-14's or AR-15's.

Thank you for telling me. I will definitely check them out. Are they a CMP
certified club? I really want a M1 garand.

How did you get the little Marine at the end of your post?

Yes they are a CMP club. I think being a team member lets me post the animations....and it doesn't seem to be working right now.
