I need someone that can come out, look at my lawn, take samples or do whatever it is that they need to do in order to tell me why grass will not grow in my yard.  I'm not looking for someone to do any work to it - I just need to know what the problem is and how it can be treated.

Does anyone know of such a service?

you can take a soil sample to your local extension office and they will send it off to be tested.

Buy a soil testing kit at Southern States or Tractor Supply. Amazon probably has them, too.

BTDT with the soil testing.  I suspect an issue with organics or contamination or something.  This is an ongoing problem but growing stuff isn't really my area of expertise unfortunately.
