I just got offered a job out there as a IT techie contractor , I know nothing about the area , housing , and what not ...good place to work and live?   what is there for internet out there?

There are parts of Mecklenburg that are nice to live. The lake can make things expensive, but overall the cost of living is low. Boydton is on the side of the county that isn't very highly populated, and it's not near much of anything. The South Hill side has a lot more resources, shops, stores, restaurants, etc but it's a good 45 min or more from Boydton.

Folks a bit closer may be able to be more specific.
