I'm really on the fence about this.  On the one hand I love the message, but on the other, I don't want any crazed Prius driving fruitcakes banging up my car in parking lots.  What say the hometown hive?  Anyone with these plates that's suffered vandalism or any other unwanted attention?

I've had the Gadsden Battle Flag plates on my vehicle for well over a year and I haven't had any issues.

I have one and I've never had any issues or confrontations. My other car with generic VA plates has two good door dings that happened in the last 8 months.

I was thinking every second vehicle. I was really shocked at the popularity in Wise, Scott, Washington and Russell.

Well, depending on how much I drink tonight, I may end up ordering one from DMV .  The wife is an agreement, so we'll see what happens.

Do it.  I would love to get a set, but don't want to give up my firefighter plates.

No problems. And folks don't seem to tailgate me as much anymore, either.

Do it, OP.

Supposedly they are the #2 most popular specialty plate in the last 5 years.

Get them, and then drive north into MD to watch the butthurt.

I've had mine since they came out.  Never had a problem b/c of the plates.  I have gotten a lot of thumbs up or waves from others while on the highway.

When I retired the BattleVan® I retired the plates to the mancave.

New car is total "Gray Man" with no markings whatsoever.

I wish NC offered this, I would get one.

I actually came to the VAHTF because I saw one of these plates in the Asheville area recently and got jealous, and wanted to see if someone had a thread about them

My tags have gotten me more thumbs up and middle fingers than I can remember.  Around here (Fredericksburg) the one finger salutes usually come more from "folks with rims" than "folks driving a Prius".  I usually just wave, or blow them a kiss.

Only problem I ever have is people seeing the yellow color and thinking it's a New York state license plate.

Considering so many sheep don't even know what it means I think you will be ok.  I plan to get a set as soon as time for renewal comes up.

Got mine on a whim when my last renewal came up; wife wasn't pleased at first but now she wants one for her car! I also bought a few "souvenir" plates and gave them as gifts.
