I bought gas there about 6 months ago. The pure gas was over $1 more than the regular. IIRC the regular was $2.25 and the pure gas was $3.37.

With all the variables (chiefly E10 isn't always 10%) it's been hard to determine just how much better nonethanol fuel economy really is, especially for older vehicles.  Ethanol designed engines operate at higher compression.  I've measured anywhere from 2%-8% fuel economy increase (vehicle size variations) in the old gasoline.  If you want to see just how bad ethanol fuel can be for certain motors, puts some E85 in your lawn mower....WARNING:  once under load it will stall and be a useless machine.  Any marine motor, carburetor, or fuel systems older then 20 yrs could have negative effects from ethanol.

Slightly off tangent, but is there a site to guide us toward off road diesel locations?

The Southern States in Stephens City and Culpeper (at least) sell 50 cetane diesel as well.  50 cetane off road diesel sold in Stephens City.

The royal farms on RT522 that just opened a few months ago I notice has ethanol free gas
