My USMC Nephew, Cpl. Nathan D. Mahler took his own life and became part of the 22 per day.

He served two tours in Iraq, and he was a member of Suicide Charley, 1st Battalion, 7th Marines.

I'm not looking for sympathy or thread clicks. I just want people to know that dying in combat doesn't always make a hero.

Many times when our Soldiers and Marines come back from combat the battle they are facing is within themselves.

I am now a family member that has experienced that battle with a loved one and I am now a part of the 22 per day family.

R.I.P. my Marine. You are gone but will never be forgotten.

I love you.

Uncle Joe.

I just saw this and thank him for his service and said a prayer for him and his loved ones. Surely these vets are loved, I think they just forget how much sometimes, then it is too late.
