Would you live there? We are looking for a vacation home, and have been looking at the Arizona side (Havasu, Parker, etc) but have not really looked at Laughlin for some reason. Prices seem to be reasonable. How is the government? I see it's part of Clark County, so I think there is a pistol permit required? I could be wrong. Anything really awesome or horrible? Looking for family vacation place, mostly a weekend or two a month year round.

Don't know squat about Laughlin but I can tell you Clark County dropped the requirement for handgun registration about a year ago.  Only "permit" needed is CCW if you want one.  Relatively easy to get. ishoot2live right here in these forums is one of the most highly recommended instructors around.

I would scratch off Boulder City,
Any town that resorts to speed traps and this sort of manipulating drivers at crosswalks for revenue is just plain evil in my view.
Two most recent past PD Chiefs both forced to resign after scandals!

As others have said, there is no registration. NV has no state income tax and AZ does.

Nevada HAD no state income tax, the Sando-RINO "Business Activity/Margin Tax" will have the same effect as it is passed down to the consumer.
This in addition to all the other taxes and fee's imposed over the last twenty years that have moved us from the lower third of states in actual tax rates to the upper third.

Laughlin was a blast when we boated down to Havasu and back a few years ago, but I wouldn't ever consider living there by choice.

Would not buy there. Lots of petty crime with the center of town being the casinos. I bought in the Pine Lake area southeast of Kingman Arizona. Close enough to hit the lakes if you want in the summer. Awesome place for Christmas. Think ancient ponderosa pine forest with a full four seasons. Price point is on par with anything in the cities in the area.

I would not recommend going on the river near Laughlin during the summer. People are killed left and right on that stretch of river. Way too many people for such a small stretch of water. Think 45 dollar a day jetski rentals multiplied by drunk Californians.

Years ago we floated down the river in tubes.
Now on that stretch it's like a demolition derby on water.

On some weekends Havasu isn't much better.
