Well, now that I have my Nevada DL (stupid Utah income tax) I am officially a resident of Elko, Nevada, not to hard of an change since Elko still has mountains and fry sauce.
Any Long range shooting completions in the Elko area?

Not that I know of near Elko but check out palomino valley gun club.  They do a ton of long range stuff in Washoe county.  I know it's a little drive but it's something.

'Little drive', he says.  It's 600 miles round trip.

The Elko range has a 600 yd bench. Not sure about competition.  It's been a long time. Check out the Elko rifle and pistol club?  I think that's what its called.

I saw that too. The holes in my brake are canted forward 30 deg. I wonder if thats enough.

From their "glossary":

Compensator or Muzzle Brake— A device such as an attachment at the muzzle, or pods provided near the muzzle, which release powder gases laterally

 or rearward
in order to reduce muzzle jump or recoil
