Investigators on the scene believe that the suspicious device is in fact an explosive device, according to a news release issued by the town shortly before 5 p.m. The release said that the device has not been rendered safe.

Seriously. It doesn't really make sense. I am hoping is was someone just "dropping off" something they may have found.

I was driving up there and noticed a large area taped off, figured it must be a gas leak or something. This is bizarre.

Someone left a backpack outside the PD door overnight Mon/Tues.

Officer shows up at 0700 and thinks it might be a lost item.

Takes it inside, opens and sees bomb like device.

Calls FBI ect

FBI detonates said device that night in the parking lot.

AFT joins the investigation.

Dude was arrested after flying to Chicago Midway over the weekend.

Funny enough, this guy's name was "Chicago Mike".

D bag had Fuck Nederland Police spray painted on his truck.
