Happy Friday !

So as I mentioned in GD (that place can be interesting..) I am moving to Colorado in Nov.
My Original Post

It would be great to meet some like-minded individuals once I get out there and settle in.

Some interests include : Hiking, pizza, beer, firearms, running, dags, bourbon, making fun of myself, science, history.

I'll keep an eye out for any meetups that are posted on the HTF as well.

List your favorite microbrewery below and if you're willing to meet a stranger out for one when it is convenient

Cheers,

-M

Where to?  CO has a lot of sort of North/South/East/West meetup differences.

I think I offered in the other thread if you have any questions or want any info of the Denver Metro beyond "but liberals live there" hit me up.

Your nearest range is probably going to be either Silver Bullet or 5280 Armory.  5280 does class 3 rentals, by the way.

Best pizza is going to be Nicolo's in Denver, IMHO.  They may have 1 or 2 other spots.  There was supposedly a great place on Wadsworth but it closed down.

Denver Art Museum and Natural History Museum are great spots.

Golden Gate Canyon State Park is really close.  Tons of fly fishing around, too.

There is a whiskey bar downtown next to a rally good cigar shop.  It gets a little hipstery, though.

You're going to be conveniently located to a metric shit ton of stuff to do.

I'm beyond excited. Fly fishing is definitely on my list for next season, along with everything I didn't get to do often in Georgia.
Thanks for the tips !

Saw your GD thread OP

I live basically at the top of Golden Gate Canyon state park. Nice spot. Ill be hunting down there as the snow moves in and blocks access.

If you have 4wd and like to beat up your vehicle let me know. I have lots of trails for that and dirtbikes.

PieZanos in Sedalia. Stupid ridiculous tasty. Another ARFcommer and I have grabbed a few slices from there. Wishing it wasn't 11:30pm here so that they'd be open. Well, at least I have lunch plans for tomorrow now!

North compared to what? It's a west-southwest suburb of Denver.

Sliceworks in downtown Denver isn't bad, and I like the place at 38th and Kalamath, but I can't remember the name.

If we are going to talk food check out Deli Italia on the corner of Wadsworth and 20th.  The dragon sandwich is fantastic.  Bobby the owner is a great guy!

Luckily if you like beer that is an area that Colorado can "beat out" Georgia in.

In Lakewood not so much but you aren't far from the good stuff. Depends what kind of beer you like, but...

Odyssey Beerwerks is good, pretty close by.
4Noses is great.
Odd13 in Lafayette makes some of the best hoppy beers in the state.

Downtown there are many choices, but check out the Great Divide Barrel Bar.  You should eventually check out Crooked Stave to find out if sour beers are your thing. Epic, Renegade, and Denver Beer Co. are all very good. Station 26 is a favorite of mine but not especially close to you.

Eventually when you go to Northern CO you'll have to check out New Belgium, Odell, Funkwerks, and Weldwerks.
Avery, Left Hand, and Oscar Blues in the Longmont/Boulder area.

North compared to me. I'm south of Pueblo.
