Based on my 5 control numbers, and when they came in, it looks like they are doing about 200 per day.

Based on the info in this thread, my three should come in in 3 or 4 days. I assume none on the weekends, so Wednesday, or Thursday. The lucky ones will come in on Friday 1/20. MAGA Day. ?? |

All in the 2016273*** range... One came through without a control number printed on top - weird. And one came through with the stamp, but also with a DRAFT watermark on it. Has anyone seen this before????? |

Can the control numbers, date of submission, and date of approval for Form 1, & 4 be had via a FOIA request?
Wonder how that graph would look. Anyone getting paper form submissions back? |

Hopefully they are the only solvent trap supplier that the ATF goes after. |

Form 1 efiled 3 stamps on 6/13/16. Got all three of them on 1/26/17. MCX form was sent with a "DRAFT" watermark on the document. I reached out to the efile email address and they sent me a clean version the very next day. Now I just have to wait for it to come back from the BCG
I'm just a forum lurker, but wanted to thank @Dawgfish (and everyone else) for their work on all this! |

So 8 month's.
I read where some people are talking about a point in time when something changed and/or there was a flood of forms? Has that hit, or is it yet to come? I watched a video on YouTube of a generic can, seemed kinda like what I want to do, no it's not the best but being able to just quiet down .223/.30 with one can would work for me. Thinking about selling some LS motor stuff I got. Turbo'd LS motor in the Chevelle is never going to happen at this point, a generic can is more attractive to me now. |

Yes, the fed rules changed on or about 7/13/16 (Google 41F), so as we approach that date the number of forms is increasing and the delay with ATF is increasing. I admit that the ATF is actually doing a decent job trying to stay caught up. I was convinced that wait times were going to top 1 year due to this change, but it didn't look like it will get quite that bad.
Of course, what we need is the HPA to pass. If it does, we'll probably start to see 30 day approvals on the remaining nfa items. |

You're optimistic View Quote Maybe. Everything I have heard suggests that silencers represent the vast majority of forms they process. Almost all of them are made by manufacturer's (as opposed to F1 / makers), so there's Form 3s and Form 4s to process. If they kept their staffing how it is now (prolly not perma, but for a while it would prolly remain the same), I can imagine wait times would be much much shorter than they are now. Maybe 30 days is optimistic, but it prolly wouldn't be much more than that....at least until they downsized the staff. |

It's the FED after all, they'll adjust accordingly. Everything I've seen has pointed to them borrowing ATF employees from other divisions and hiring in temps (which is unsettling to me) to keep up. Once that happens they'll go back to the NFA staffing and times will level out at whatever pace they deem safe for OT and staffing. Imho. |

View Quote So technically the peak of forms is going to get to them in about a month, if they are approving forms from 6/13 now? So does anybody know what the process is that they do? Work on each form once a day for 2 minutes once a week until it is processed? I know it's .gov, but just curious. Thanks for the insight. |

it's about like you'd expect, they put forms in boxes, stack the boxes in approximate order that they were received, and then forms are taken from those boxes when their 'time comes' and they are distributed to the actual examiner. An examiner does many forms in a single day, so it's not 2 mins a day...it's more like it sits in a box for 7 months and 30 days, and then when the examiner finally starts on it they knock it out same-day. Then, if it's a paper form, you have to wait a few weeks for an intern/lacky to envelop-stuff and mail the the stamped form.
