If I was a Vegas odds maker I would set the odds of completion of the tunnel at 10% success - 80% complete fail ( taking side bets on the extra 10% WTF factor in them coming up with someother screwball idea ) Odds of it being completed anywhere near the cost estimates 0% |

Was it some big wick mucky-de-muck's son or daughter..... http://seattletimes.com/html/localnews/2024203376_potofficerxml.html From one SPD guy who I know through the Army... Apparently the rank-and-file sees Pete Holmes the same way NYPD sees DeBlasio - as a clueless anti-cop idiot... This one cop, who was rather close to retirement & (from what I inferr) thus on park-patrol, was simply enforcing the new post-legalization law as written: It's illegal to smoke pot in public. Largely, his actions were directed against the various undesirables you find in city parks, who are so beloved by the city leadership (eg, bums)... He also wrote some rather sarcastic notes to the DA's office on the tickets... The brass did not like it... |

Even though I support the legalization of it, I thought the whole "Petey Holmes" thing was hilarious. The law says you're not supposed to be doing it in public areas such as parks - the same as openly consuming booze there. Cop was just enforcing the law.
Seattle does indeed love their bums. They make the city disgusting. |

The option to tunneling was trench and cover. They chose to tunnel but guess what, they STILL had to do sea wall replacement, which could have been accomplished simultaneously, almost as a byproduct, of trench and cover. And Seattle only has added taxes sufficient to get the sea wall replacement up to the Aquarium, not the full length needed. Seattle is mentally ill. Another project they want to do is to build a combination Juvenile Justice center WITH condo's. Who would want to live in a complex with a juvenile justice center? It's about a step short of building condos next to a prison. |

Close to me, they opened a shelter, but don't require sobriety. So now the homeless addicts are causing problems, and the emergency services are being depleted by this "helpful" place.

Curious to see how fast they run her up after the repairs. Getting her to the repair pit they slowed it down to 1/6 speed and inched along... So far behind at this point, they may just creep along to the finish line to avoid any more repair delays... What a mess.

It will make it underneath the middle of the largest and tallest building in its path and then break down.

I'm all for doing away with the viaduct, but they could have simply dug a huge ditch in it's place, put the lanes in, cover it up and be done with it.
