After living my entire life in the communist cesspool of NYC, I'm finally getting out and moving to a free State. Close on a house in the Boyertown area of Berks next week....

Lots to do, to include retrieving all my evil NY prohibited guns from the bottom of various bodies of water (Had a rash of very tragic boating accidents). Scrub the socialist stench of everything i own. Start the paperwork process for the big boy toys (SBR, Can, etc). Already had a sit down with the Colebrookdale Township Chief and he seems very NFA friendly. No issues signing off once I get my PA DL. and so on.. Can't wait to walk into a gun store and buy guns/ammo without reams of paperwork and a NY rectal exam...

Now I need to find a good range/gun club in the area. Would prefer one that's NFA/EBR friendly and has 200+ yrd distances (a 500 yrd range would be awesome).....Any suggestions?

How about gun stores in the area? The good, the bad, the ugly....

Appreciate any advice.....Thnks

You can come visit me at King Shooters Supply in King of Prussia. We sell NFA items and have a bunch of stuff.

Up that way I'm not too sure.

Try Higher Ground Tactical near Emmaus for gear and a range really close.
Sarco and Heritage Guild aren't too far away if you don't mind the drive to Easton.  Both of those are indoor ranges however.  There's a few local fud clubs where you can stretch it out a bit more, but I don't know of anything nearby where you can get close to 500.

Welcome to the neighborhood.

Will do as I commute to the Philly often...Will definitely need an NFA primer as I'm not familiar with the process....

Thanks. Already been told that Boyertown Rod and Gun Association is FUDD central and not AR friendly..

Welcome to Berks. Local rod and gun clubs seem to be fudd enclaves, haven't found one worth joining yet. For transfers I recommend Firearm Solutions / Rob Horst. Good guy, runs his business out of his house.

If you don't mind the drive to Palmyra, Palmyra Sportsmen's Association is pretty EBR friendly.
No full auto allowed, other than that it's fine. Unlike some clubs, silhouette targets are gtg.
(When the risk of attack by frisbees is real I'll switch to bullseye targets ) 25- 200 yard range, indoor handgun/archery ranges.

If you want 500+ yards, you will be driving outside of the area.

New Holland has a 600 yard range.

Bechtelsville has a club that I belong to...it's pretty junky, but I do shoot and move drills there.  They also have a fish pond that they stock with large trout for the kid's rodeo every May.  It's only $30 a month with a "100 yard range."  The meetings are very 3rd Tuesdays of the month.  They don't allow FA, but they don't seem to mind bump fire stocks.  Weird, but true.

I'm in Pottstown, if you want to get together.  I belong to Bechtelsville and a club in Elverson as well.  Elverson has a 200 yard range and you can hunt on the property, but they cap membership to 400 members and they only accept new membership after the new year.

Pricetown pistol and rifle club is a haul from you, I'm guessing 20-30 min but you can shoot full auto with permission, if you wind up needing a place.

Closest good club would probably be Topton, toptonfga.com/  They have a 200 yard range

A bit further of a drive good active ranges are Ontalaunee ontelaunee.org, (300 yd), and New Holland (600yd)

There are several others, but those are the bigger clubs with active shooting programs, and NFA friendly, but not full auto friendly.

Tulpehocken http://www.tulprpc.org is also just a bit west, and is machinegun friendly

University Rifle Club goes out to 300 yds and is somewhat NFA friendly (no MGs except for special club-run events. Sensibly Armed in Mt Penn is a decent shop with 4-5 indoor shooting lanes. I usually travel to Kings or Insite if I'm heading East; Shydas, Encks or Trop to the West.

Hamburg rifle and pistol goes out to 300 yards.
