Children's firearms safety class, our most important course.
Growing up Gun Safe

We put this class in so that youngsters who are getting firearms for gifts can learn to use them safely.  We want a parent to attend with the child.
Instructor: Dan Southard, Victoria Willhite, and Phil Wong
Do you own firearms and/or have kids? We’ll go
over safety with handguns, shotguns and rifles in
this class. In this class we take the mystery out of
the firearm so that your child knows it is a deadly
weapon and not a toy. Half of the class is spent in
the classroom going over safety rules and answering
any questions. Half of the class is on range
shooting. Parents must accompany their child.
Please visit www.gatorfarmtactical.com for more
detailed class descriptions and equipment lists.

Hi.  This is for ages 6-12.  We will furnish all of the firearms, if a parent who isn't familiar with firearms either attends we will charge only for the child.  We begin in the small classroom and spend several hours covering all aspects of safety with both rifles and handguns.  When the students have passed the tests we will take them to the range (we have the range on the right to ourselves)  At the range we will have a student with an instructor and begin by shooting a .22 single shot rifle, Cricket or Savage.  After they finish the rifle and fire enough they feel competent with it we will review handgun safety and fire the Walther .22 pistol. If the class has mostly strong 11-12 year olds we will ask the parent if they want to fire a 32, 380, or 9mm. Often it is the parent who is not familiar with guns who wants to fire that one.  We don't want more that 10 children in the class as I will bring in another instructor for every 5 children.
