The legal use of force seminar by Squires was one of the better classes I have attended on the subject of personal defense and the legality concerning the use of force.

Job well done, if possible do some more.

Great class, Russell.

The range of experience varied from novice to very experienced.  Russell did a great job spending time and instruction where it was needed and catered the instruction to the skill set of each shooter.  The most novice shooter went from being uncomfortable in the beginning to very comfortable four hours later.

It was great seeing the pros and cons between handheld and weapon lights and learning a variety of new tactics.  I haven't taken a class in a long time, but consider myself an experience shooter and gained a lot of insight from it.  For the price, amount of time on the range, and caliber of instruction, I recommend it to anyone.  It's nice to do more than just bang away at paper targets from a stationary position or only do competitions where there isn't time to work on deficiencies.

Reviewing scoring methods and shooting for points vs speed

Explaining operation of double spinner and engagement techniques

Moving safely right to left and left to right with the 180 in mind.

6" paper plates represent plates on plate racks and Texas star.  Assessing accuracy on paper is easier to address marksmanship issues before shooting steel

Student working on plate rack and Texas star.

Make rickety barricades into a more stable shooting platform by placing foot on the brace and pushing into it.

Demoing roof top support.  Hooking magazine over the edge keep shooter from sliding down and rifle stabilized.

A coworker & I took this on Saturday.
Instructor Russell brought years of multi-gun experience and condensed it into the basics.
For the novice shooter new to the gun games, this class covered everything he should know before shooting their first match.

There was a wide range of skill levels present and all took something away from the day.

I think the highlight for most would be learning how to shoot the Texas star and plate rack.
Believe it or not there is a method to the madness as we all learned.

We experimented on different types of barricades with the rifles. Shot for speed/points with hg & carbine.
Worked forward & lateral movement.

If you are contemplating dipping your muzzle in the multi-gun competition pool but were hesitant, take this class first.
You will be glad you did.

until that day
Mark
