I'm interested in carrying a concealed knife in Cleveland.  Then more specific in places that post the NO FIREARMS. DEADLY WEAPONS, signs on their door.  I would assume a knife is a deadly weapon but reading through the laws makes it more confusing.

So far I am getting No switchblades and nothing over 2.5". I'm just not sure that's correct.

Why am I asking?  I go to the casino and cant take a firearm but Id like something for protection while walking to my car.  So far a knife or spray are my only options.

It is confusing. Here's my take on it, I am not a lawyer and could be clueless!

I carry an esee izula 2, as a tool. Its a pocket knife. It's my survival knife. If I absolutely had to use it as a weapon, I would but don't carry it for that reason. Legal everywhere except Cleveland. 2 inch 3/4 blade I think.

Carry for protection/weapon, illegal unless you have Concealed Carry Weapon permit.

How would anyone know you are carrying either knife or firearm?

Exactly, unless they have metal detectors. Also ohio doesn't have a concealed weapons permit. It is a CHL only! (concealed handgun license). Knife laws in ohio are in need of reform. I know from experience that Ohio State Highway Patrol and most county SO dont consider a folder pocket knife a weapon. Its considered a "tool".

I have been to the Q and Jacobs field with a small folder on me and never had a issue.

Don't gamble so can't tell you about the casino but when I went to the two places mentioned above I just clipped the knife on my pants and had the clip hidden by my belt and buckle, only once did a detector go off and I just lifted my shirt and showed them it was my belt buckle and they let me go on my way.

If you go to the casino during the day it won't be as bad walking outside as it is during the day and I think that they have increased police presence outside during the night after a few robbery happened.

Have fun

Carried a knife into the casino a few times, clipped into pocket, no problems.

So as long as under 2.5"?  I read it that way.

I got caught going to the Q with the metal detector with my pocket knife.  They asked me if I wanted to just throw it away, I said no, let me take it out to the car.  I walked out and hid it in some bushes.
