I agree, send a message. But I don't really think there is a question of whether he will sign this or not. If the legislature thought he wasn't going to sign, they wouldn't have went through all these gyrations days before the end of the session. I heard speed cameras are now going to be illegal in Ohio as well. Another win for Liberty! View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I think we have a pretty good chance of Kasich signing this (it passed overwhelmingly from the legislature, and thus far he's signed every pro-gun bill put before him) but I think we should be taking a minute to let him know we want it signed! Not illegal, but an officer has to be present in order to issue a citation. So it essentially invalidates their use, no point in having a camera if an officer has to be present. Definately a win though! |

All of the jerry mandering was a blessing and a curse for me. I was moved out of Marcy Kaptur's district and into Jim Jordan's. Unfortunately, I was moved out of Terry Boose's district (who was a sponsor of HB 234) and into Dan Ramos' district. Ramos is a pure communist and has an NRA F rating.
Here is the email I sent to him, kind of rub his nose in it. I just wanted to let you know that HB 234, which you voted against, is on its way to the governor to become law.
This bill will ease the burden on your constituents in the crime ridden areas of Lorain county to get concealed carried weapons permits. It is clear that citizens need to rely on themselves for their own protection. Also, the numerous hunters across Lorain county will be able to hunt with sound suppressors on their firearms. This will greatly reduce hearing loss and the hunters will be much less of a disturbance to the sounding area. I am disappointed you did not support this bill and encourage you to reconsider your stance in the future. Ironmaker View Quote |

So if you don't have a CHL, $67. If you already have your CHL, $50 You can give them 1 form or 10 at the same time for one charge. |

I was pretty active in 13 but not so much in 14 with the legislation. It was dormant for a bit. We got us a good bill though finally :) |

This is probably a dumb question, but I'm gonna ask it anyway. Is your local police chief bound by this CLEO shall sign part? I don't own any NFA stuff yet but I do plan on it when I can afford it. I asked my sheriff in Wood county a few years ago and he said no. He directed me to my police chief and he said he would. Can I still use him, as frankly he's closer to my house.

I'm betting it's stalled due to the Christmas holiday. Might not see movement until after the first of the year. Hope not, but not holding my breath either. It can't come soon enough though. I think forward to all the four hour chunks of my life I have been given back, and weep for joy.

dont see anything in it that says that can charge for filling out forms....
edit: 311.43 CLEO signoff. Sheriff shall accept any CLEO form and process in same manner as CHL. 311.42(C). Sheriff can charge the CHL fee once no matter how many forms are submitted by that, it would mean if you have a CHL, then u have paid it "once" so its free...

I think the legislature thinking was, we are going to force you to do it and if you need to charge for it, you can. The bad thing, some who were doing it for free now might take advantage and charge for it. In any case, at least people now who were not able to get sign offs will technically be able to. I'm sure there are some sheriffs who will have to be taken to court over it. Once they start having to pay legal fees for ORC 9.68 cases they are loosing the rest will fall in line. |
