Good friend of mine's son came in 23rd out of 1077 competitors.
 His score: 283-6X (whatever that means  )

Assuming it's a 30 shot course his average shot was in the 9-ring with 6 in the X-ring which is 1MOA in diameter (1" diameter at 100yards).
Kinda like this score of 100-4x for a 10 shot group. You get the idea.

He also placed 15th out of 420 in the Vintage Rifle Match using a K31 and G11 ammo. 283-3.

I was there, and I didn't shoot that well.
It was my first service rifle match in about 21 years. Didn't know I could get there until 3 days before and it was a bit of a clusterfuck for me. Still had fun though. 219-0X, that's just over 70%, 2 decades+ ago it was more like 90% Oh, and my shooting jacket "shrank", damnedest thing. Don in Ohio |

I missed a gold medal by 1 point in the Garand Match, but placed 5th in the Springfield Match with a 290-8x.
That was my personal best by 3 points. |

No medals for I. had 251 2x and 3 mikes 2 in off hand and one super flinch in slow fire .. Must have ricochet off those damn may flies
 But I won the T shirt award..
