Before digging into the CA DoJ website, I thought I would ask the Arfcom 'experts'.

A customer needs to ship a rifle to me for some work (I am an FFL).  When returning his rifle to him, does California have any regulations requiring that the rifle go through a dealer?  

I have shipped guns that I have SOLD to California and am familiar with the process.

None that I know of - just follow the federal laws.

A quick Google search didn't turn up anything, so I suspected this was the case.
