Thanks!

I did have one outfit that was interested in taking it from me. The company was a mental rehab that uses projects as part of the therapy.

I couldn't insure it in time and didn't want it travelling up the road without coverage.

I honestly don't know how bad of shape it is in, but it is not sea worthy. If anyone wants a free project, let me know. I need to eliminate the slip rental.

Need to know more.
Are the engines good, what kind, how many hours?
What kind of electronics are on the boat? What kind is boat? What year is boat?

I mean, there is some kind of possibility.
Maybe pics and more info.

Am in Naples. I mean Nipples, Fl.

Let me know.

Oh! Title says Morgan 44'.

What does "dispose" of mean?

I'm just dumb, naive, inexperienced, and desperate enough to take on a sailboat project. (I actually do know enough to know this is a really dumb thing to try but..... I'm thinking I might need a huge change in my life in order to keep going after the loss of my wife).....so?

Yeah, I kinda figured that....like getting a "free" horse.

One of those bucket list things though....live aboard a sailboat and cruise.

Contact Miami Dade Reef Guard. If donated to them it would be tax deductible.

Another member encouraged me to reach out to you.

There is now some urgency to the removal.

I don't have any real ideas here, but run down sailboats are a dime a dozen on the east coast. I do NOT recommend this, but lots of sailboat owners have been dropping them off in the glades or keys and just walking away.  There's a reason.  If it's completely not seaworthy (non-operable engine, tackle and sails degraded, etc.), then there's no "free" disposal.  You'll have to pay somebody to tow it, haul out, cut it up and dispose of it.  I've heard of costs that run from $10K (24') to $25K (40') just to haul it off and cut it up.

I'm sitting in Lauderdale right now.  Let me know if it's something you need eyes on.
