Guys,

I recently moved to St. Pete from St. Augustine.  I know more about my reps here (St. Augustine) to the point that I could vote here with confidence, however I already switched voter registration to Pinellas County.

My problem is sorting through all the bullshit and not knowing what is bunk or truth.  Without having lived here paying attention I feel like I'd be making a half-assed assessment.

Basically I am asking for help on Judges and School-board.

I'm a conservative, so my voting will be what you might expect when it comes down to a D or R on the ballot.  Unless of course you can point me to information that might change my mind.

Also, out of curiosity, where do you guys stand on the amendments?  I've seen more than a few "No on 1", the solar power amendment, which strikes me as odd.  Maybe I'm not looking at it correctly, but doesn't this allow people to use solar panels/etc in order to reduce their own utility burden?

Feel free to add discussion for any other votable issues.

Like most I am very cautious about constitutional amendments. Generally you can look at who supports something and tell who it's going to be good for. #1 is supported by the energy companies. #2 is supported by an ambulance chasing elitist attorney. Not to mention its already allowed in Florida. Imho if it's passed it's going to do two things, draw in a bunch of undesirable people and turn the state solid democrap/socialist. I know a few people in Colorado that supported the change there. Now they wish they hadn't. Here's some links to look at. I didn't choose them for their positions, they are just the first few that pop up.

If you look on the right hand side of the ballotpedia ones there is a Florida State seal, below that is a link to each amendment and it's pro's and con's. Happy reading.
