Many of you here in hometown have been clamoring for info on my Pickup in my Avatar. OK, just Badredfish, but enough about me.

When I bought it in 2011, it had man most of the work done, paint, drive train, and interior, but it needed a lot to be finished.

It is a 1948 Chevrolet 3600 (3/4 ton). The bed is over 7 ft long. I still rides on stock suspension, kind of. 2 springs were removed from the rear and the stock knee shocks were replaced tube style shocks.

The drive train is a 1970 250-6 with Fenton split header, and a holley 4 barrel mounted on a Offenhouser manifold. I also have an Offy valve cover and finned side plates. Electronic ignition and to top it all off, pwr steering and brakes and A/C. A GM 200R4 OD tranny with a lockout converter helps keep the stock 4.56 Dana rear spin a little more leisurely. With tall tires I can manage 65 mph at about 2400 RPM.

I had a friend of a friend help me paint the interior, and Sammy the Mexican (well known SWFLA restorative upholsterer) rebuilt the seat and slip on a new cover).

I replaced the plywood in the bed with a wood kit with the help of well known Arfcom machinish, Holloway.

The truck is fashioned as a work truck. Not a hot rod. My Dad was a Paving Contractor in the 60's and 70's before his health started failing at an early age. My memories of a "truck" was used for work. Not rolling smoke or whatever brodozer fool assed bullshit most trucks consist of today....but I digress.

When I worked on cars in Switzerland way back when, we had one of these as the shop truck, 3 on the tree, start button on the floot. Damn thing was bulletproof and a blast to drive.
Yours sure looks sweet!

Edit: floor, not floot (even though........floor and foot actuated.......)

Holloway has helped my on a lot of the work done. Besides the bed. We have installed interior pieces, kickboards made from kydex, passenger mirror, installing the fuel transfer and "tank", suspension work, fabricating an alternator bracket, heck he even went with me when I bought it!

He is a good friend. Just not in a gay way....

Thread hijack.

Here is my '72 Chevy C30. It's slowly coming along. It's been a constant two steps forward one back. Hopefully, the yankees will come back soon so I can fix the shit they break. I need to buy some parts.
