florida is great and we would love to have ya, but gulf shores alabama is my new "family beach town".
i live about an hour from clearwater beach and avoid it like the plague. it attracts the trashiest people from every corner of the world. sadly this goes for most attractions in florida, but i guess that's the price for cheap paradise. |

Lido beach resort is nice as well..........seista key is not far away, going to be more of a young crowd at siesta though.........Sarasota airport is literally 15 min down the road.
You guys could always stay at the Ritz carlton as well........only about a 5 min drive from the Ritz to lido beach |

I have the pleasure (or PITA?) of currently working on the Siesta Beach renovation job right now and my next job starts on Lido Key May 1st!
Siesta Key Beach is Trip Adviser's 2015 #1 Beach. Its a younger crowd generally, the Siesta Village has more bars and night life than Lido/St. Armands but St. Armands is nicer for sure. The south end of Siesta is quieter but Turtle Beach is just a "meh" beach. Lido beach is actually a very good beach, if Siesta wasn't a few miles south it would be the best beach in Sarasota. The amenities at the beach are old, and the bathroom is a hike but it does have a pool (but so will your condo/hotel). I would stay on Siesta simply because I'm young and the beach scenery is better  and there are more bars. There are fishing charters all over the place here.
What time of year do you plan on coming? Summer rates generally start May 1st I believe. The traffic here sucks right now due to the snow birds but the end is in sight thankfully. If you do decide to stay on Siesta PM me, my mom is a rental agent on Siesta Key and rents out condos weekly/monthly as well as some villas on the mainland (by the mall/Gulf Gate area) |

July is hotter and more humid. If you come on the weekend of July 4th, there is offshore boat racing right off of Lido Key! I go every year.

Palm Beach county has some nice beaches so does the treasure cost (Fort Pierce ).
On windy day's not so much wind stirs up everything.. A lot of decent dining. down this way too. No southern drawl on this side of florida I know of. PBIA 15 Minutes from Beaches also depends on traffic. |

Sarasota: Siesta Key Beach is rated one of the top 5 in the world. Go to it while you are here. Lido Beach is nearby and also excellent. This place is paradise by any standard of measure.
