Ci's, cam lift/duration, size of that carb, tranny, rear info...? Need more info, but with those tires you're lucky to go mid-13's regardless of what's spinning them.

I have the tire thing solved....perhaps.
" /> Some mickey Thompson 275/50/15 drag radials on centerline rims may help in the traction dept. |

These pics should give more of an idea of whats going on with Christine.

First run? 1/4 mile? My guess is 2.6 60ft time, 9.8 1/8th, 15.9 1/4 mile at 95mph. Second run, who knows depends on build quality, torque converter stall rpm and tuning of motor pre-run. Or is it stick, if stick, add .2 to all times except 60ft.
Just a guess, don't shoot the messenger, you asked. |
|
That's cool....it is what you think it is...
But is that what your gona stick to in our winner take all pool. |
|
Ok here goes some more info.
Cam specs....235 in 245 ex....mechanical roller cam Gears..411.....converter...darell young 2600 stall loose.....comp ratio...10.25 to 1 Scat stroker crank...scat 6 inch full floating rods...SRP pistons. Carb is 750 holley double pumper. Take a guess and get in the pool. |

How hard are you going to run it? New build...are you going to break it in first or just go balls to the wall?
Tires look good. All out? With that limited bit of information, I'll go out on a limb with those tires, the gearing, and what we know and say 13.1 @ 108. I'd say that's my conservative guess...could be faster, but I doubt slower. |
|
I'll stick with that for the first run only. Then your skill takes over, it could be a well meshed system and run 13.4@102 or a missing mess and run 15.5's all night. Always fun to play though. I don't know your skill on the strip so it is a complete guess because driver skill matters ALOT!
Forgot to say, you definitely have a nice collection of parts! I was always a Dodge guy, but you seem to have put some good thought and money into this build. I wish you the best. A little about me: I had only 1 car at the 1/4mile drags (in Bithlo, Orlando Speed World) and had lots of fun, but never broke into the 13's. Car was a little different, Deep Green '95 Eagle Talon TSi FWD Auto, with approx. 250-280HP. Stock turbo, Intercooler pipe upgrade, boost controller (bleed type, Hallman boost) 3 1/2 GReddy catback exhaust. best time was: 60ft: 2.094, 330ft 6.089, 1/8th [email protected], 1000ft 12.140, 1/4 [email protected] Bought and installed a 16g TD04-05 Mitsubishi Heavy industries turbo, 255GPH Walpro fuel pump, but after 3 trips to the drag strip I never could get it to launch with the same authority as stock, added a few MPH, but never matched my best time with the little T25 turbo. My Kid came along and thoughts of selling it, alas the dodge dealer destroyed the turbo trying to put a stock intake hose back on, which had a rubber sizing grommet or something, trashed the impeller fins on turbo. That was the end of my fun. Sold it to buy the wife a minivan for hauling the kid. One day........ |

Woulda been cheaper to put a LSX/4lX0E pull out in it and spray the piss out of it.

Best run of the night or first run?
First run - 15.2 @ 90mph Best run - 12.87 @ 109mph |
|
Considering the updates I'll go 13.35. Probably a touch faster when completely dialed in and if you run in a couple months from now on those cool nights.

View Quote I have 800 miles on the engine...and on my second oil change and second valve adjustment I plan on another oil change and valve adjustment before the track. Also going down in plug heat range and eliminating the vac advance. I see no reason not to go balls out and to the wall. |

I run my car all the time...My experience from seeing these types of cars run is they never run as quick as the owners expected them too for the $ they dump into them. It's not just about the parts..... I'm going to say high 14's at 95-102....

How big is the motor and the spray kit and will you be spray it the whole quarter mile? What kind of transmission and is it stock?

Its 385 cu in....with a 150hp shot.
I built a similar engine for a customer back in 2001...it made over 500 hp and 500lbs torque on the engine dyno without the squeeze. The car wont hook on the motor in the street...so im only hitting the NOS after the first shift. I need to get some VHT and prep my street for some practice. The last time I actualy raced a car was back in 1990....so cal street racing against the Compton crowd. Hopefuly no one at the track will be fireing a 12 guage at me this time...lol lol |

Always fun to give a car a run down the strip. (just try to not blow anything up) Enjoy and report back after! Where is this track and do they have a run-what-you-brung night? |

Was always with my friend Kenny Underwood who had a big block red Nova that was stupid fast with all motor. Remember the GTO 4 speed car that left with the front wheels of the ground and the crazies bringing super pro cars and running them on the bridge at 3 in the morning? |
