I'm buying myself a HK 93 or MR762 rifle for my birthday. I can't decide which to buy. I'll eventually get both. What would you buy first? Thanks

Ammo is cheaper for the HK93, but mags aren't.

HK 93. It's only going to increase in price. The MR762 is more likely to decrease. They tend to sit around a long time. An updated version may also come out to compete with the existing ones. No chance of that with the 93.

I was in the same dilemma, although I was debating a SR-25 instead of the MR762.  I went with the SR-25 simply because I wanted a .308 precision rifle, and I already had several 5.56 rifles.

I don't see prices going down on the MR762, they seem to hold there value really well and not many pop up on the used market.  When they do they seem to be snatched up quickly.

I WILL get a HK93 as well but figured I could still hold off on the purchase.  Prices do seem to have crept up on them, but I think 6 months from now you'll still be able to pick up a nice example for $2500.  There still seems to be a steady supply of them and/or a lot of changing hands.  Though I don't want to sit on my hands too much longer.

I hate to say 'get both' but I feel like if you want a rifle NOW- you might pay more for a HK93... I bought mine just because I had the money, and HAD to have one... so I didnt mind paying $2,700. There are deals to be had on the HK93 depending on how long you want to wait. If you want a rifle NOW- I would get the MR762, and look at GMP Parts Co to see what John's price is on one brand-new.

Sorry, I posted half a thought- basically, if I couldnt buy both, I would either buy an MR762 now, or keep my eyes peeled for a deal on a HK93, unless you're so in love with owning a true HK93, you dont mind paying the premium for that.

The 93 will keep going up in value.

I will buy both eventually. Maybe by the end of the year. I've been looking at both on GB and locally. I'm still looking.

Get a C93.  Spend the huge amount of saved money on a trip to Disney world.
Go in your back yard and yell '' I'm going to Disney world '' while shooting your new gun.

Personally I am not attracted to the 5.56 caliber in general and especially not in such a heavy rifle BUT that being said the HK91/93 rifles are going to continue to increase in price due to fanboi demand as they shift around the few rifles in circulation.   So since the MR762 prices aren't going anywhere,  I would concentrate on finding an HK93 at a good price and have the money on hand to act on it immediately.

On the other hand if you just want a roller lock in 5.56 then as someone else pointed out save the money and pick up the C93.

Ive bid up to $3200 on GB for a very nice HK93. I never met the reserve. Back n 2009 I paid $3200 for a NIB HK94. I probably paid to much back then for it but it's all good now. So now I'm not sure how much to pay for a HK93.

damn that's a lot of coin.  One thing I have learned about gunboker is that if you stay patient it can pay off.  After overpaying a few times I learned to wait for a nice example, you can usually get better deals if you do a little scouting first.

I'm a collector. I do shoot but not a lot. I've seen some 93's go for $2800 but are beat up. I'm looking for a very nice example. I'm bidding on one now that fits my fancy. Hopefully it turns out nice.
