Hacksmith, weird one off HK, or something else?

My guess is that it hard mounts inside a vehicle.   There is no hand guard hanger and the attachment behind the rear sight looks like it's for a pin.

Is that a flash suppressor... it looks like it is solid forward of the vent cuts?

Interesting, and odd - even the owner doesn't know what it is.

Yeah, that's where I saw it.

What's odd to me is while the finish is incorrect, the patina on it would suggest it wasn't made recently.

A moron/bubba happened to it... a shame too as its an early HK91 receiver. The cocking tube has been shortened and there is no forearm hanger. It also looks like the pin is missing from the trunion.  This was much discussed on hkpro.com after it was posted on gunbroker...

This isn't a bubba, something else.  The flash hider is not commercial, nor home made.

What is the mount behind the rear sight?

Helo mounted? Rear mounts on a spring/bungy from top of helo door opening. Might have a mount that goes around the bbl. No need for handguards. Muzzle device could be to help from high speed movement/ accuracy? Also look at the front of the front sight, another mount that does not look standard. Just a thought.
