Can anyone Recommend good reliable after market mp5 mags?
Are the "ATI" GTG?
How are the Koreans?

MKE steel mags are good

I've had good luck with the MKE mags as well as the POF ones (caution, as this is based off only one magazine). I've had several of the ATI Korean ones, and some of them worked flawlessly, but some of them would jam on the second to last round (about 50%).

The MKE mags would be your best aftermarket. But the prices arent much lower than HK factory. The ATI mags worked 100% in my MKE K (MP5K-PDW clone). MKE also makes a polymer MP5 mag, but I do not have any experience with it.

I was wondering if they are worth the money...

I just picked up a couple kci korean mags from hkparts.
They ran fine in my clone, as long as you're ok with 29 rounds.
With thirty, it just wouldn't chamber that first round.

I suppose that doesn't fit the qualification as good/reliable. But was fine for me at the range.  I marked them specifically so I wouldn't mix them up with my good german mags.

At $17.95 (RobertRTG), they're worth buying a couple and trying them in your weapon, IMO.

I had a clone made from a German kit. It was built by Gerard Miller who is top notch as a builder. That said the Korean mags were not to spec with German ones in my experience as the feed lips were too narrow and the bump outs that stop the mag from being over inserted were too high on the mag not allowing it to fully seat. They were junk and never worked correctly.

I would buy MKE steels is I could not get German mags for $5 more a piece. Just buy HK mags and be done with it, if you look you can get decent deals on used mags sometimes. Its better than trying to find aftermarket mags that work and realizing the money you wasted would have bought 5 or 6 real functional OEM mags.

I have 6 factory HK mags, 1 MKE mag, about 10 ATI-marked Korean mags, and 1 Beta-C mag. They all work flawlessly in both my SW5 and MKE AT94K. They have all been used full-auto as well (in the SW5 with sear pack). Never had a malfunction.

D.J. Getz Firearms Co. is making some 10 and 30 round curved steel mags.  These are quality US made mags and you can find out more about them HERE

I have one MKE steel and 5 2nd gen Korean mags, one of the Korean mags will crap out rounds and jam the gun sometimes. I have to number them so that I can isolate the bad mag, but haven't done it yet.

If you have a caliper you can probably figure out which one is doing it by measuring the distances between the feed lips on all of them.

I went and blasted some 300 rds today out of my SBRed CA89. I had 1 issue with good brass ammo and Korean mags. I had 3 with Blazer aluminum cased ammo.  Relatively trouble free.

I was reminded why my MP5 clone is one of my absolute favorite weapons. At 50 yds freehand I was putting 4" groups.  I have zero doubt the rifle can do better. This range has a bench and you HAVE to stand inside of it (between bench and table) to shoot.  That's great, except it forces 1 stance on you. Ugh.

I haven't really had any issue with the ATI mags.  Except with hollow points.  Still haven't had time to sort that one out.

I just bought HK mags for my MP-5 clone. That being said, I would buy MKE or DJ Getz magazine if they are available at a reasonable price.

I have around 20 of them, all have worked fine.  There are around 6 that have a combined 15K through them without any issues.  None are showing any unusual wear or have had any issues relating to quality.  I bought them at a fairly cheap price per mag thinking that they would be disposable, but they are holding up really well.  I download to 28 rounds, since they were tough to seat on a closed bolt with 30 rounds when changing mags quickly.

I rarely run factory mags anymore since these have been so good to me.  They have worked great for me and Gordon is a good guy to buy from.
