Anyone have one, I so want one to go with my Garand and 1903a4. Wish it was 30.06 caliber, but .308 is ok

I had a Beretta BM-62 which was more of a commercial version without the grenade sights or tri compensator. Nicer wood than the BM-59's I saw .
I had the rifle back in the late 80' to the mid 90's, magazines were expensive back then, much more than M-14 mags. I sold it and a M1A to buy a Knight's SR-25 when they first came out. I wish I had kept the BM-62. |

Sarco was running a sale on the original BM59 mags in new to excellent condition - bought a 10 pack for $259 but it seems they've gone back up to $50 each on the mags now. Earl

I've got one, but don't shoot it much any more. It is a classy, interesting rifle, but if you want a semi 7.62 it has simply been surpassed as the years have gone by. I can say the same for my M1As and M14s too, sadly. They just don't get the range time they used to.
I wouldn't sell mine, don't get me wrong, but it is more of a collection piece (as you mentioned) than a must-have shooter. |

Mine isn't as legit as Defender's. I'd rather have all P.B. but this didn't cost as much either. It's one of the James River Armory guns with their receiver and all PB parts, I added the Para stock. https://s4.postimg.org/tsjw8mq1p/para1.jpg https://s4.postimg.org/4nsvv7ql9/para2.jpg https://s4.postimg.org/4cbfiga59/para3.jpg https://s4.postimg.org/uynw7fecd/para4.jpg https://s4.postimg.org/rt3ah7vq5/para5.jpg https://s4.postimg.org/3qmgmcf31/para6.jpg https://s4.postimg.org/5wgrguijh/para7.jpg https://s4.postimg.org/rwx3xh17h/para8.jpg https://s4.postimg.org/95v6nb6n1/para9.jpg https://s4.postimg.org/fku7jzdct/para10.jpg https://s4.postimg.org/ln6fo7r6l/para11.jpg View Quote |

View Quote As much as I'd like to find a Beretta receiver for my kit, I may just have to tear apart a mixmaster SA 1 mil rifle at this point. Can't hardly seem to find a good non-pitted receiver for under $400. Yet can't seem to bring myself to do it and tear one down forget, but have been on the hunt for a while and it's just not coming to fruition. |

I got a pitted IHC receiver that had been blasted and reparked for $150. Eventually it and my kit will go to Shuff's View Quote |

That shop had a rack of them they were getting rid of. Might grab a few more.

I enjoy my BM59 far more than I ever thought I would. Very controllable!

Very cool video! You control it quite well. I've heard they're more controllable than M14 rifles. I have only shot the M14 in full auto. Have you tried both?
I'd expect an M14A1 to perform similarly, since they both have full pistol grip stocks and compensators. |

This is a better clip to demonstrate the tri-compensator. My friend is firing the gun and even though he is skilled with full auto guns, the comp does a fantastic job.

I've been drooling over the JRA BM59s every time a classicfirearms email hits my inbox.
What kind of accuracy can I expect with one of these? Anyone been measuring their groups? |

I think they are ugly along with most modern rifles..I'm an old school guy.

I thought about acquiring an ARX, I still might one day but I just don't know. I've picked them up and handled them at gun shows and I'm not real impressed. You pick up a BM59 and you know you have something in your hands - all that wood and steel. The ARX is mostly plastic. Honestly, it feels like it belongs more in an airsoft match than a battlefield.

I ordered a premium model BM-59 from Classic. They converted a new Garand stock but left out the winter trigger, rubber buttplate and 90 degree rear sling swivel. It still looks good and most of the parts are marked PB BM59.

Attached File Eta.. after following the link in my quote to your pic (the pic ain't displaying) and seeing all the pics of your rifle, it looks identical to mine except the rubber buttplate(which I love). Your rear sling is different, too as you pointed out. Is that a JRA receiver? |

They list a model variant in the JRA BM-59 manual that fits that description. It's the BM-59 S.L. https://www.AR15.Com/media/mediaFiles/23996/1494820942924243599825-208704.JPG View Quote |
