is there a place that sells the top cover and mount so I can switch my socom 2 back to the original look? I got this II on trade and like the first model better.

May I suggest another option.

Install the light weight Scout Hand Guard (SHG) imported from Canada.
It runs cooler than the factory mount, it enables you to mount an Aimpoint low enough to co-witness
the iron sights, and you can install optional mini side rails for a weapon light, or whatever you like.
