I've got a project going on with an M1, ser # 6093XXX. It's a later Garand from 1956.

I was wondering if anyone here could tell me what codes are correct for the bolt and trigger assembly?

Or point me in the direction of a source for that info would also be much appreciated.

Thanks guys!

Thanks!

Now I know what to look for.

It has an H&R trigger assembly and bolt right now. I'd like to switch them out to the correct parts.

I'll probably do the trigger soon, but the bolt I'll have to see who can headspace it for me.

This is a great site! You can input your receiver serial # and it will give you all the matching parts.

Thanks for the input M1G
I am buying parts for SA 1941 (September) and 1944 (June) M1 receivers. Any particular concerns there?

Do you know the flush nut rear sight alone will run you $650 for the 1941?

No I don't. Are you suggesting it is not worth my while to go that route and match the parts to the receiver?

Can you suggest good sources of parts?

I am sorry, but I don't understand what you mean by "stock" in this case. Do you mean available parts in general?

SA/GHS walnut stock. I got to looking around and "if" you can find one I dont know if you could touch a nice one for $600

If you want to do a restoration do a later WWII rifle. Its much cheaper

Thanks M1G
I am concentrating on the main metallic parts.
Barrel, stock, hardware etc will be "new".

41 barrel in decent condition is going to be a real tough one to find also. IMO if you dont go all in there is really no sense in adding a few correct parts. It will still be a mixmaster as it is now
Good luck with your build

I fear your are right, but I like the idea of the all Receiver parts, Gas block, Op Rod, sights etc in their original time matching numbers and just the stock plus its hardware in new.
