Just got in a American .308 with wolf camo.   Got it from Buds for $310  shipped.  That was with the cc fee.
This is my first bolt action hunting rifle.
Camo is much better in person.   Already have a Nikon Prostaff 5 to go on it.

BTW,  Have and have had many, many guns.   Just never wanted one before till now.

Looking forward to sending a few down range.
Just wanted something lightweight and basic.

I have one in basic black.  Shoots quite well.  With the right ammo it will do one moa.

So the one you got from Buds is model 6949? Does it have an adjustable trigger?

Their description doesn't mention it.

All Ruger American rifles have a adjustable trigger.

We are leaning towards putting a pair of these together for hunting.

Paired with VX3 would be a nice light combo.

I can't afford the Kimber Mtn Ascent I desire.

Ordered one for my wife in Wolf camo from Buds. They were out of stock but came back a couple days ago. $310 shipped plus a $20 FFL fee.

DNZ mount and a Burris scope for now. May just sell a few more things off and put a VX3 on it.

I'm keeping my Stevens and put it back in its factory stock.

I broke out the Krylon and camo'd my own.  It's a little different now, but close enough to this.

Just picked up a 30.06 RA with a 4.5-14 Nikon BM and Leupey rings from a Pawn shop for $450 OTD. I'm going to load up some 150- 165gr plinking / Texas Deer loads.

Gun apears to have never been fired. No brass rub on the extractor at all.
