I don't know about Walmarts in New York, do they sell guns? If so, ask to see if they can order it for you. Ours has a gun book you can browse, see something you want and they can check stock. If they have it at the warehouse you can get it in a week or two.

Hoffman's gunshop in CT  was modifying the Mini Tactical model with a pinned muzzle brakes to make them legal.  I haven't been there in a few months so I'm not sure if they're still selling them.  Try calling.

Muzzle brakes have an unknown status thanks to the SAFE act. May or may not be legal.

Thanks, Mike.

You could Durakote them black. Brownell's sells a heat resistant laquer that would work as well.

Not a fan of the commie guns but thanks for the reply.

Found one in my LGS but he wants $769.99.

Seems high.

Moot now, but that probably isn't terribly high.  MSRP is like $900, and you probably wouldn't pay much less than $769 for a NIB one through gunbroker when all is said and done.

I believe I paid $750 for my #5816 (18.5" blued/20rd) when I bought it in WA a couple years ago.

I don't think from a brick & mortar store you're likely to pay less than that for a new one.

In NY My local Walmart has them occasionally in stock and can order them if you ask them to special order.
