Of my SBR's I already have 2 x 556's, 2 x 9mm's, a 22lr, a 7.62x39, and a 45acp.  Im parting out a 300blk, which is how i have this extra (im going to a bolt action or a single shot for all my 300 blk needs.)
I was thinking a 6.8 sbr, but not sure if ill ever use the 16" version i was going to build if i do that.  If i do that, than ill need to figure out a use for the non SBR lower i have also.

Complaining about the cost of ammo and then you decide to double the ammo by choosing 2 different but very similar rounds?  Honestly, you would be better off choosing either the 6.8 or 6.5 and then buying one caliber in bulk pricing.  Within 300-400 yards (given your barrel lengths), the 6.8 will perform better than the 6.5, but beyond that the 6.5 will shine.  There are people going out to 1k with 6.5 grendel srb's.....

Either way....6.8 and 6.5 is still quite a bit cheaper than 458 and its much more common.

I know you have a couple of 5.56 uppers but I had a spare and ended up doing an adams arms 7.5" piston.  I freaking love that thing!  That would get my vote.

my vote goes for a grendel sbr , i want one in a bad way but just can't afford it right now

out of all your listed rigs the shorty grendel will actually be able to reach out to distances that they can't

your 300blk bolt gun has you covered short , or any of your other sbr's if you want something in semi auto
