Do you mind if I ask how much it cost to do your lower and did you have to strip it down for him to do it? They are only a little over an hour from me.

i drove down for an sbr a month ago
7pm on a friday, turn around time was exactly 15 minutes (90% was setting up the machine, getting the text setup right, double checking and a test run).
i'm set to stop by again next weekend for an SBS engraving, i honestly couldn't recommend them enough. The owner is super nice and has great attention to detail. He also engraves other items and had some cool projects on the bench while i was there.
if i ever have an engraving project in the future, he's my go-to guy

I believe it was ~$36 w/cash discount to engrave my cz scorpion. didn't have to strip anything down, plastic receiver, i didn't have the stock attached tho, and it fit just fine.
i'm stopping by next saturday (labor day weekend) to have my vepr-12 metal receiver engraved, nothing to strip, but i'll probably take the optics off. I believe that one's going to be $52 w/cash discount (20%) it's a side folder, so i'm sure it'll fit ok...
i'm guessing if you're going to do an AR, you'll just put the lower in, with the stock attached
i envy your hour drive, i'm in GR, about 1.8 hours each way, but well worth the time since i don't have to ship anything off.
i highly recommend calling ahead to schedule an appointment rather than just dropping in
the metal receivers are more since he has to use a much more expensive machine... i think his plastic engraving laser was about 8k or 10k, but the one that does metal was on the order of 20+k
