I'm planning on getting one and I'm torn on what direction I want to go with the fsb or not and what rails. So I'd like to see what you have.

Ordered a SpecOps MFG 10.5 upper in .300 BLK a few weeks back.... should be here today. Making my work day seem all that much slower.
Are the PSA complete lowers any good? Been thinking about grabbing a couple because of the price tag. Haven't used one though. |

Here is my favorite 10.5. I wanted something simple and handy. http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb202/jwb211/5eadbbbd071a1f933907d55d9f443fe0.jpg View Quote Really nice. Mine is below. OP, I would recommend going to one of two extremes from my personal experience. I started with a FSB and a quad rail and an Eotech, then I realized how loud it was so I got a silencer, then it weighed too much so I went to an Aimpoint T1, then I didn't like the FSB with the T1 so I cut it down and put a lighter rail on it, then I didn't like that rail so I put an even lighter rail on it, then I really noticed how heavy the silencer was, so I got a lighter silencer...you get the idea. It's finally at the point now that I really don't see changing it. I found that with the shorter barrel, I really wanted it to be a very light, quick handling rifle. It took a lot of tinkering before I discovered the setup I really fell in love with. So with that in mind, I would either do a very simple rifle with a fixed carry handle and FSB, or I would do a HSLD setup with a T1, KMR rail, and lightweight barrel. I found that the options in the middle weren't what I expected or enjoyed. 6 years ago: Later: Even later: Later still: Now: A streamlined rifle is a happy rifle. Whether you do that with fixed sights and MOE handguards, or a flattop with an optic and a modular handguard, I've found that light and simple really feels great. |

Just built a 10.3. Can't post a pic at the moment.
DD 10.3 with a DD lite rail 2.0 that I took a bandsaw to, to fit the can on. I started with a 16, then a 14.5, now I'm at 10.3 and seriously considering selling all my other shit. I love this rifle. The DD barrel is amazing. It's pretty light, easy to handle, and dead nuts accurate. It started as a PSA build but the accuracy was awful so I changed to a DD barrel and am glad I did. Mine has the FSB, I prefer it. I use an eotech, but I think it points better with an FSB if that makes sense. |

This thread is relevant to my interest. Just made a trust so I can start the paper work on my first SBR. Decided to go with a DD 10.3" since my 16" DD barrel has been the tits. Lots of ideas in here. Anyone use the Fortis Rev or Rev II? Got any pics with those? Lots of beautiful rifles in here BTW!!!

The stock is a 607 that I did. If you're not familier with 607's, they're Colts first carbine with an extendable stock. It has a locking lever in the buttplate, and it opens approx three inches from that closed position. The hole in the side is a QD socket for a sling, but the very early originals used that hole as an assembly access hole. Later production did not have the hole. |

I've seen that number referenced before, especially in the retro forums. But that's pretty neat it's adjustable. I like it....a lot. |
