I recently destroyed a 13.7" barrel because I was being absent minded. Anyway I ran out to apply for a trust and next I'll be applying for the lower to be an sbr after that I'd like a suppressor.

What is the ideal barrel length I'm looking for. I want it as a home defense back up gun with a short suppressor and il probably shoot it for fun out to 200-300 yards.

I was thinking of doing an 11.5", 1.7 twist. If I went with an 11.5 barrel and a 11" NSR Rail would I run into issues mounting a saker k suppressor? Will I be able to shoot any ammo with the suppressor? I'd like the gun to be versatile but have a good all around use.

Other barrel sizes I'm considering are 13.7" 12.5" I'm just trying to achieve a good all purpose gun I think but maybe I should just build a true sbr and than a second gun for long range.

Can't answer on the Saker, however I have a 10.3 with a ris ii and my Specwar K has enough clearance. Give the Specwar K a look. There are some smoking deals right now and the MAAD mount for the Saker are really expensive

On barrel length, 11.5 is good, however you could do a 10.5 an save an inch. Great length for HD and you can still get some distance shot. II was ringing steel consistently at 500 last week with my 10.3.

What JP said:  shorter (in this case) is better.

Even with a 10.5, add a can and you'll be as long/longer than an unsuppressed 14.5" AR.
