Looking for a new sbr do I need one of these in my safe

Well... if you want it.
If not, there are plenty of SBR configurations to build for cheaper. |

[#2]
Ask that in this thread.

Mine is amazing.........just hit the 6000 rd mark. Runs every bit of ammo I put through it.

[#4]
Yes. Get an adjustable gas block if you plan on suppressing it.

I have a DD MK18 uppers.
I have close to 2500 suppressed rounds through it problem free. It's fun and looks awesome. The only thing I do not like about it is it's heavy. Other than that yes, you want 2. |

Yes you do! I don't have the DD mk 18. I built a Noveske CQBR. Shut up and send them your money!

Doesnt matter what color you get it in.. You'll rattle can it sooner or later... you cannot escape it... it is your dessstttinnyyyyy....... http://i.imgur.com/iB6PSqOl.jpg I opted for the CQBR Block II... While mine has many aspects that are not clone spec, it is a work in progress. Im hoping to make it a complete clone with only a muzzle device deviation. I love the block II personally, but I have been digging the Mk18 Mod0 as the correct nomenclature was accurately pointed out from my last post(thank you Nick) The Block II will give you more real estate for mounting solutions, but will also be heavier. No FSP on the CQBR Block II unless you opt for the DD MK18 FSP RIS II. The Mod 0 will be lighter and you wont have to worry about a BUS failing unless you encounter something absolutely catastrophic at which point the FSB will be the least of your worries. I really like the platform. I would be hard pressed NOT to do a Mod0 i I were to do another SBR, but I think I'd do a 12.5" w/ URX 10.75 Hanguard just to have something different. You wont be disappointed with the MK18/ cqbr clone platform. If you do get bored with it, call me, I'll take anther in a heartbeat lol My .02 FWIW View Quote Thank you. Yea idk about the rattle can I'm pretty conservative when it comes to changing my weapon colors. You have. A nice rifle there I'm debating on just the upper or keeping it a complete DD. |

I have four guns that are 10.5 with DD MK18 RIS II rails on them.

I paired my DD MK18 upper with a KAC full ambi lower. The KAC has integral sling mounts, full ambi controls and a great trigger. IMO the best of both worlds.....but any quality lower would do. |

I would probably be running it suppressed most of the time do you all use it suppressed often?

Quoted: I would probably be running it suppressed most of the time do you all use it suppressed often? View Quote I don't....yet. Keep in mind that you'll want to check who warranties their cans on guns with 10.3" barrels. Not all do. Also, to provide enough clearance, shims might be necessary to get the can on without interfering with the rail. The MK18 thread linked in this thread earlier would be very helpful for further details. |

I shot mine suppressed almost all the time and run and a H3 buffer. What can will you be running?

I would say yes. Tag for info about adj. gas blocks and suppressors. I'm waiting on a surefire rc and even using an h2 buffer it still seems over gassed unsuppressed.

Is the mk18 gas block pinned or is it set screws that hold it on?

I heard those gas blocks take a lot of work to get dialed in. It seems like if I wanted to change gas blocks I would be in need of a smith to instal it if it's pinned

Getting the factory one off takes some time, but I bet someone from your hometown forum could give you a hand. There's no dialing in with the Govnah. Especially for a MK18 since the port sizes are well tested. |

dont wanna start a gas port debate but i bought a 14.5 barrel and had it cut to 10.3 and the gas port opened to .070 and it is PERFECT.
shoot nice and smooth with H buffer and even better with an H2. That being said i am not building a CQBR, if i was i probably would have gotten a DD URG since the rails are hard to come by. |

This is what I was gonna go with. What buffer/spring do you use with your Govnah setup? View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

When you order, just specify your barrel (MK18) and the three position plate will be predrilled for unsuppressed, suppressed and adverse. Easy |

Yes, plate included. It seems like a lot for a gas block, but between the MK18, suppressor and two tax stamps, it's a bargain, and makes everything run like butter. |
