Form 1
Day 1 Now that it exists, we can talk about it! The parts list: Upper DPMS A2 upper reciever DPMS upper parts kit DPMS A2 rear sight Aero Precision stripped upper receiver Colt upper parts kit Aero 10.5 barrel w/FSB Aero BCG BCM gas tube Colt barrel nut Colt handguard cap Colt delta ring Magpul MOE SL hand-guard Colt front sight 3 prong flash hider Colt carry handle Magpul M-LOK QD Magpul M-LOK cantilever mount Lower JD Machine stripped lower WOA LPK ALG ACT triggerGeissele SSA-E trigger Magpul MIAD grip BCM receiver extension H2 buffer Magpul MOE SL stock Noveske ambi-safety Noveske QD end plate Untitled by zweitakt250, on Flickr Untitled by zweitakt250, on Flickr Two things guided this build. A tight budget, and wanting to keep things simple. I know what I built won't work for everybody, but so far I'm liking it. After I put 500-1000 rounds down range I'll know better about how the combination works for me. So I decided to change the upper. I tried it with both the carry handle and with a red dot. I liked shooting the irons much better. I figured what the hell and decided to go with an A2 upper. The A2 saved 5 ounces over the carry handle and got rid of the knobs. What caliber? What length? E- or paper-filed? |

I'll be using Magpul SL furniture and for right now it will be a KISS rifle while I figure out what I want to do with optics. The upper is on a pistol lower until the stamp arrives. Worse than Christmas I tell ha! I eFiled today. I hope it all goes OK. |

Because the tactical shillelagh is a force to be reckoned with!

As of yesterday, it looks like a 25-35 day turnaround. The holidays caused some backlog, but yesterday they pumped thru 4 days of Form 1's. Check out nfatracker.com if you haven't already. I typically pull down the XLS and do some filtering/sorting.

I filed 3/3 and they're just now on 2/1 or 2/2 submissions I believe. I think it will be another month for me and probably a 60-70 day wait when its all said and done.
It wouldn't be so bad if the average when I filed was 25-30 days. I expected to be shooting long before now.
I filed 2/20 and they were around 35 days... would have had it tomorrow if it held true
The news letter thing the ATF has is saying 6 months. Hope thats not correct.

Efiled Form 1 just submitted today. It will be my first NFA item, I'm nervous.

I've seen the Draft Watermark issue mentioned before. What's up with that? View Quote From the EFORMS newsletter: Watermarks on eForms PDF’s Users have found that they may receive an email notification of approval or disapproval of a form but the PDF of the form is either not attached or has a draft or submitted watermark on it. This occurs for any of the eForms and results because the PDF did not properly generate. When this happens, please use the Ask the Experts function to direct an email to us notifying us of the issue. Include the permit/control number so we can check your form. For NFA forms, use the NFA Questions function. For Form 6, use the Imports Questions function. Day 62.
Finally approved with no Draft watermark on Form 1 Ted Clutter was the person who fixed it. |
day one, actually its only hour 2.
Submitted two form 1s (gsg522pk, PSA lower for a 7.5" build) on a trust using e file earlier tonight. I hope times don't continue to increase in anticipation to may 1st, that is what lit a fire under my ass to get them done asap, my CLEO is a POS. Ill keep everyone posted on the progress. |

56 days for me and still no joy.
Efile Email they sent me has a PDF that shows 6mo for form1s. Don't know how accurate that it though. |
It's right around the corner guys. Just hope you don't get a draft watermark like I did. It took 5 days to clear that up.
ETA: Just looked at the graph on NFA Tracker. My approval was the first one in months to take over sixty days. Now there are a whole bunch of them above the 60 day line. It looks like the current average is between 9 and 10 weeks so it's getting worse. |
Im at 63 days on a 2/10 submission. When I filed the graph was at 35 days so its almost doubled since my submission.
50 days give or take a day................frrrtttt.............
