What other guns would be good SBR candidates? I already have the following SBRs: Thompson, stocked-Glock 34, stocked-M92 PAP, and (soon) a 300 AAC SBR AR (that I may someday get a .458 SOCOM upper for). What I'm looking for is something different. Thanks to the stocked Glock, I'm not much interested in the commonly-SBR'd 9mms (uzis, MP5s, the MPX, etc). No interest in shooting 556 out of an SBR (I have a Tavor anyway, so no need!) or paying $200 to SBR a 22LR. I'm trying to think what other guns would be good candidates? Anyone have any ideas / inspiration?

Uncommon?

I have been thinking about a 92FS (factory) SBR

http://www.hk94.com/hk/topic/28660-factory-beretta-92-short-barrel-rifle/ (left cold due to copyright/watermarks on the images)

I have been looking at how to do the conversion since March of this year, with no luck (since the odds of getting a factory sbr are almost 0)

I have been contemplating doing a Winchester in 44-40 with an <12" barrel.

Or do something like this.

357 lever action is a contender...but with a tube mag you're killing capacity with every inch you chop off. I've seen some SWEET SBR ranch hand 357s, but not sure that's the route I wanna go.

Not even sure what to think about that bolt action 45 abortion.

SBS are illegal in my state, unfortunately. I would LOVE to SBR my S12 and a SXS 12ga too. No dice until I move to a free state...

PS90 would be fun, but I'm not sure I want a 5.7x28 cal gun.

A glock 21 using hicap Kriss mags? Hmmmmm...that might be awesome.

I'll echo this. Something nice about a 10.4" barrel while still being under 20" OAL.

Do a PS90, and a 6" or 12" AR57, and buy an FN Five-seveN...that way you'll have three hosts that share ammo and suppressor(s). I have a 6" AR57 and the eF1 for my PS90 was filed a couple weeks ago.

I SBR'd one of my G21SFs and absolutely love it, esp. with the Octane 45 attached.

(PB is down for the moment, or I would include a gratuitous pic.)

What stock are you using with your 21SF?

ETA: Standing by for gratuitous pic.

A RONI drop-in chassis.  Works/feels better than I thought it would, I rolled the dice but was pretty skeptical until I tried it.

And PB seems to be back up so...

Ahh cool. My G22 SBR has me thinking about a 21SF SBR, but it seems like none of the "stock" setups (Israeli stock, Endo stock) are compatible with the SF models, and I don't care for the chassis types. I might just have to modify something, because the normal 21 feels like a brick to me.

I gave up on that and decided to SBR a JRC .45.....that takes glock 21 mags.

I know you said no 22, but an SBR'd 22 is a lot of fun.  Especially if you have cans, since it's easier to keep it subsonic out of a short barrel

A SBR'd 10/22 in one of those PS90-style shells would be pretty awesome with a suppressor...I just don't really wanna pay $200 for a stamp for such a gun. Don't get me wrong, I love me some range toys...that's just a bit of a stretch.

An AK74 is a good option, but what about the supply of cheap ammo getting pinched off by the feds?

Get an AK that shoots 5.56. I'm waiting on the stamp for my M85. Here it is mocked up.
